Every year since Lee Oskar Harmonicas was founded, we have participated in the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show, which is a blockbuster annual event in Anaheim, California that is considered to be "the world’s largest trade-only event for the music products, pro audio and event tech industry.”
For all of us at Lee Oskar Harmonicas, this is an important part of our yearly business and we take this opportunity very seriously to connect with our distributors, affiliates, commercial companies, and other instrument manufacturers. It is our annual “office away from the office”. This year, once again we had our colleagues from Tombo Manufacturing of Japan with us in the Lee Oskar Harmonicas booth, as well as LOH team members Dmitri & Erin Antos.
As part of the NAMM experience for attendees, Lee Oskar wowed passing crowds as he demonstrated the four Lee Oskar Harmonica Tunings. Visitors loved taking photos of our FOR ALL. FOR LIFE. wall. And as always, we got surprise visits from friends, family, and artists. Lee’s colleague, Harold Brown, (another original founding member of WAR, who was the band’s drummer), stopped in for a visit. Lee Oskar Harmonica’s Featured Artist and recent Grammy Winner, Keb Mo,’ also spent some time with Lee listening to Lee’s newest compositions. Another great highlight came when Victor Wooten, American bass guitarist, record producer, educator, and recipient of five Grammy Awards, setup in a booth across from the Lee Oskar Harmonicas booth. When Lee and Victor played “LowRider” together, their mutual respect came shining through and the crowds in the aisles were blown away by this spontaneous magic.
As an interesing footnote, when Victor was only 5 years old (and quite talented!), he and his brothers opened up for the band WAR! So all these years later, this recent reunion at NAMM was extra special.
We hope you enjoy this slide show of our action-packed, music-filled week at NAMM!
