CAUSE:
Failure of equipment or heat source
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke and fire coming from a small 1-story home. They began an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. They quickly controlled the fire in the laundry room. Crews pulled the ceiling to check for fire in the attic and surrounding rooms. No extension was found. Salvage and overhaul was then completed. The residents stated they smelled smoke and were alerted by smoke alarms. They saw smoke coming from the dryer and called 911 after they safely got out of the home. Firefighters from Stations 26, 70, 52, 61 and 93 responded to this incident.
