Pondtent's Weekly Marketing Tips
We have two types of photo book/brochures we use for marketing purposes: a "price and idea guide" and a "dream book".  Last week we talked about our idea and pricing guide.  This week it's our Dream Book.

Dream Book

Mike Kurylo from Premier Ponds was one of the first pond people I know to make a "book of dreams" or "Dream Book" for his customers.  According to Mike, he got the idea from a customer who thought it would help other customers see all the different services Premier Ponds offered.

How does a Dream Book differ than a Price Book?  Just like they say-- one has prices and one is all about living the dream lifestyle with a pond.  One is business, the other is more pleasure.  I like to think of our Dream Book as more of a
"coffee table" style book.  One to be left out and enjoyed by pond enthusiasts.

We made our book using Shutterfly. I also have heard of people using MixBook.  These, or any other photo book printing site is fine.  Even Walgreens does it.  Check sales all the time-- all three of the names mentioned all have sales with 50% savings at times.

We used our own photos, which we highly recommend. Shotfarm via Aquascape has some great photos too if you need some to fill out your book.  We always note which photos are not ours.  Our book is about 20 pages long and and has some copy from our site.

How we use our Dream Book
We use our Dream Book at local garden shows and events we do.  We also bring copies to potential customer's houses and either offer to have them hold on to it for a while or keep it if they'd like.  They are pricey, so we don't give them to everyone, just to those we know would enjoy them.  We also plan to drop the book off at some high end car dealerships, and physician's offices.

Do you have a Dream Book you use?  We'd love to see it!
