Phishing Email Source Uncovered and Corrected
On Tuesday, September 14, a number of members were sent what are called phishing emails asking for money.  The problem stemmed from an administrative error on the signup page of our photo directory company’s website. For a limited time, the list of names and email addresses were viewable to everyone who went to that site to sign-up for a photo shoot time. The photo directory company has now closed down this avenue of public access. In summary, we’ve identified the source, we fixed it, and your information is safe. Members can continue to sign up in confidence knowing your information will remain confidential.

There was no breach of the church computer system. We take seriously our commitment to maintain information security through continuous monitoring of computer network activity logs, using an array of passwords, authentications, and security software to assure that information at church remains secure and confidential.  If you have any questions, you can reach out to Bob Koenig, Director of Support Services, at the church office. 319-365-1494, Ext 108.

This Weekend in Worship:
discover more: together

Scriptures: Genesis 17:1-8 NRSV
Preaching: Pastor Steve Knudson
Sermon: “Discover God's Promise"
Sermon Synopsis: Today, God reaffirms God’s promise. God makes a covenant with Abram. A covenant is an agreement or commitment between two parties. God will give children, land, and blessing. God will fulfill God’s promises. God asks Abram to respond in turn, to pledge his faithfulness to God through a covenant act of circumcision. When God makes a promise, God fulfills that promise, and we are changed. Abram’s name becomes Abraham. And the journey of faith will continue.

Children's Ministry is Underway!
It was an emotional weekend to welcome back so many (taller!) children into our ministry spaces last Sunday. It's not too late to register your children today.  We are taking many safety precautions for the health of our children, which were outlined in the most recent parents meeting online. All the details can be found here.

“The History of Christianity in Ireland”
It's probably not surprising to hear that St Patrick didn’t really drive the snakes out of Ireland, but did you know that he wasn't even Irish? Our favorite historian, FLC member Mike Bryant will help you learn the true stories of Christianity in Ireland at 10 a.m. on Sundays, Sept. 11, 18 & 25.
Join us in-person at the church, or join us online via Zoom here.

Coming Soon:

Music Ministries Underway!

We are especially excited this fall to welcome back our in-person choirs who add musical variety to our worship services. All groups are singing masked and taking other health precautions. For details on our music ministries, click here to visit our website.

Names & Faces Photo Directory
It has been quite awhile since we have seen each other, and it can be hard to remember a name to a face or vice versa. We need as many families as possible to schedule a sitting time to make this directory a valuable tool for helping make connections in the congregation. Book a Photo Sitting Today online, or call to schedule at 1(888) 742-5823.
