In Worship This Weekend

Transfiguration of our Lord Sunday
Jesus’ three closest friends hear the words from heaven naming him God’s Beloved. As believers, Paul writes, we are enabled to see the God-light in Jesus’ face, because the same God who created light in the first place has shone in our hearts to give us that vision.
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:3-6; Mark 9:2-9
Preaching: Pr. Steve Knudson
Message: “Shining The Light of Christ”
Synopsis: When a pandemic and then a derecho disrupt all the normal ways of doing church, and the calendar is stripped of so many activities, what is left? What does it mean to be church? On this transfiguration Sunday, we see that to be church first is not about what we do, not about our effectiveness, or about our ministries, but first it is about God's redemptive purpose in Jesus.

Annual Meeting This Sunday

Our Annual Meeting is coming up this Sunday, Feb. 14, starting at 1 p.m. We will discuss topics such as the Renewing God's House building program, 2020's ministries and finances, and vote to confirm the 2021 budget as well as new representatives to the council, trust and audit committee.
