Updated Standard Precautions Curriculum

The Wisconsin CBRF Training Registry has released an update to the Standard Precautions curriculum. Starting July 1, 2017 only the new curriculum should be used when offering Standard Precautions training for CBRF employees. The updated curriculum is based on the chain of infection and how to break the chain using Standard Precautions. Any state-approved trainers who have not received the new curriculum should contact the Registry

Transition Period Extended for Compliance with Home and Community-Based Settings Rule

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have extended the transition deadline date for states to demonstrate compliance with the home and community-based settings criteria to March 17, 2022. This extension will allow more time for facilities to comply with the provisions of the rule and give CMS time to clarify some of the policies and procedures of the rule. Make sure to read the full memo from the Department of Health and Human Services to learn more about the extension and about compliance issues.
