Parent Update: February 2017
View this email in your browser

Dear Parents:

It has been much too long since our last monthly update! A monthly update isn't very good if it isn't sent out every month! We will do our best to be a little more timely this semester.

There are many things coming up for our teenagers not only this spring but also for this summer - highlighted by our mission trip to South Dakota in late July.

Below you will find information on what we have been doing and what's in store. If I can be of assistance to you and your family, please don't hesitate to contact me.

What We're Studying

In Elevate, we are studying how to prepare for the journey of living out your faith. Even the freshmen in high school are only a few years from launching out on their own. So we are asking the question - what can I do now to prepare to live for God? The past three weeks, we have looked at living a life of integrity, speaking with wisdom and love, and working at school and on the job for God's glory. We will continue this semester looking at various topics to strengthen the faith of our young people as they prepare for the journey into adulthood.

Getting Into the Word

At the start of the year, we encouraged our Ignite and Elevate students to get into the Word all year long. We discussed Bible reading plans and how to consistently study Scripture. While we have encouraged them almost every Sunday school lesson and youth group meeting to keep it up, we could use your help! Encourage your teen to develop and continue a daily time in the Word.
