Farm-to-table culinary job training, bringing San Francisco together.
Give today
Dear Friends of Farming Hope,

It’s been just over a month since Jamie has begun his new role as Senior Advisor at Farming Hope, and we (Andie and Kerry) have had the great pleasure of stepping into the roles as the Co-Executive Director duo.

Like peanut butter and jelly, chips and salsa, cookies and milk, we are so thrilled to be able to complement each other. Each of us has unique strengths and experiences to contribute to our work. At the end of the day what binds us together is a shared passion for Farming Hope, and at the heart of our work is always our Apprentices.

Another great duo? You and ice cream! There’s a sweet new way to support our work: head down to Garden Creamery for a scoop of Corn-Blueberry-Lime ice cream. The corn is shucked in house and lime-blueberry compote is cooked up by our Apprentices, and proceeds benefit our program!

Our Apprentices have been thriving this summer; a few weeks ago we celebrated the graduation of our largest cohort ever! And two graduates have joined our team: Adrian as the Co-Manager of our garden program, and Vic as a Front-of-House Crew member at Farming Hope at Manny’s. We are so proud to welcome them to our team, as well as share the stories of Apprentices who have been doing incredible work in our kitchens. This year is shaping up to be our most impactful yet, with a record breaking 25 Apprentices already.

Finally, check out this recent KQED article about our work. Andie says it best, “Food is such a connector and a baseline need for everyone that it breaks down barriers in ways that not every job training program can….It helps that our team enters this with open eyes and hearts; we’re all ready for the challenges of this work.”
