Dear Friends,

In 2012, a small but determined group of musicians founded Spectrum Orchestra as a place where accomplished amateurs like themselves could perform quality orchestral music and grow their skills in an environment that was fun and supportive as well as challenging.

Now entering our 7th season, Spectrum Orchestra has come a long way from those humble beginnings. We've worked hard to make each year better than the previous one. We've grown our roster of talented musicians and our ability to perform difficult repertoire. We're proud of how far we've come and very grateful for the support you've given us — thank you!

You may have noticed that our directors have a tradition of moving on to bigger and better things, and so it is with Kevin Fitzgerald, now Assistant Conductor of the Alabama Symphony. We're very pleased to announce that our former assistant conductor, Dr. Diego Piedra, has taken the helm as Music Director of Spectrum Orchestra. Dr. Piedra has four exciting concerts planned for this season — see our website for more details.

Our first concert, "Embracing Humanity," once again features cello soloist and DSO member Jeremy Crosmer. Jeremy's performance of the
Dvořák Cello Concerto last season brought the house down, and we're thrilled to have him on the program once again.

We hope you'll join us as we kick off of our 2018-2019 season. And bring the family — kids get in free!

Tickets available on our website or at the door.
