Welcome 2017!!

A belated Happy New Year from all of us at TCTSY Australia!  We hope your year is off to a peaceful and happy start, it sure is flying by already!

We are so excited to share all that is happening for TCTSY in Australasia this year.  Please scroll down to check out our 20hr TCTSY Foundational Workshops - offered for the first time in Australia to yoga teachers, health professionals and educators!  You can also find information about classes and programs we are running across Brisbane, Hobart, Melbourne and Sydney.

The Trauma Center at JRI will also run their full 300 hr TCTSY-F Certification program in 2017. The Certification, (for Yoga Teachers and/or Mental Health Career Professionals), is facilitated via an in-person long weekend workshop running in either 1. Melbourne, Australia 2. Brookline, USA or 3. Germany, from Friday September 8th to Sunday September 10th 2017, followed by online learning with the Trauma Center at JRI TCTSY Faculty and Mentors, and concluding April 2018.  To be an eligible applicant you must have completed some prior training with the Trauma Center Yoga Program: &
TCTSY Australia's 20hr TCTSY Foundational Workshops enable you to meet this requirement! For more information on the full 300hr TCTSY-F program and to apply, click here.  If you are keen, we recommend applying soon: it is possible to apply for the full TCTSY-F Certification if you are registered for one of our 20hr Foundational TCTSY workshops (& before the workshop commencement).  Applicants are already being accepted into the 2017/2018 TCTSY-F Certification & small group of students will be accepted to attend in Melbourne.  This is a very exciting opportunity for yoga teachers and mental health professionals in Australasia to access this amazing training and become a TCTSY Facilitator (TCTSY-F) under David Emerson's guidance, but without having to travel to the USA!!!!

We are also thrilled to share some VERY EXCITING NEWS that TCTSY has been listed on the National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP) of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in the United States.  This is a wonderful acknowledgement of David Emerson, Bessel van der Kolk and the Trauma Center at JRI's dedicated research into yoga as an evidence-based treatment for chronic, treatment-resistant PTSD and Complex PTSD, Dissociative Disorders and other related behavioural and emotional problems.  The SAMHSA endorsement will have an amazing impact over time & in many ways, including: more funding opportunities; TCTSY reaching more clients; & TCTSY being the Trauma-Sensitive, Trauma-informed protocol of choice, and more. For more information please check out TCTSY's SAMSHA's listing here.

"As we begin to re-experience a visceral reconnection with the needs of our bodies, there is a brand new capacity to warmly love the self.  We experience a new quality of authenticity in our caring, which redirects our attention to our health, our diets, our energy, our time management.  This enhanced care for the self arises spontaneously and naturally, not as a response to a "should".  We are able to experience an immediate and intrinsic pleasure in self-care."
- Stephen Cope, Yoga and the Quest for the True Self
