SOFT Style Aquired by Apothecary Products 

Naturally Boulder’s 2011 Pitch Slam winner continues greater success
Boulder-based SOFT Style was acquired by Apothecary Products, a leading innovator, manufacturer and distributor of consumer healthcare products. SOFT Style develops, manufactures and markets a wide range of breastfeeding support products under the bamboobies brand. SOFT Style will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Apothecary Products. There will be no significant changes to day-to-day business operations for the foreseeable future.

Bhakti Raises More Than $2 Million

Funding will increase promotions and distribution of new products
Boulder-based Bhakti raised $2.1 million in capital from seven individual investors. The new round of funding comes on the heels of a $5.3 million capital raise last year. In all, Bhakti has raised at least $12.3 million in funding. The capital will be used to help promote and distribute its new products: a line of 12-ounce chai drinks made with cashew milk and its chai in concentrate form.

Sunrise Strategic Partners Invests in Coolhaus 

Tenth investment for Sunrise since it launched in 2016
Boulder-based Sunrise Strategic Partners announced an investment in Coolhaus, a super-premium ice cream, women-led company based in Los Angeles, California. The investment from Sunrise will allow Coolhaus to further expand grocery distribution, make additional marketing and sales investments, and launch new innovations. This is the tenth investment for Sunrise since it launched in 2016.

TraceGains Buys Healthnotes

Acquisition creates one-stop supply chain management for foods and supplements
Westminster-based Tracegains acquired Healthnotes. The deal was a full acquisition of all Healthnotes’ assets, and all of that company’s employees will be retained. The new combined company’s headquarters will be in Westminster. The company will also retain a large office in Portland, OR, where Healthnotes had been based.

K•Coe Isom and Agworld Form Strategic Partnership

Partnership to deliver enriched farm-management experiences for both growth and profitability
Loveland-based K•Coe Isom entered a strategic partnership with Agworld to provide a farm-management system that will allow farmers to make better decisions in data-driven agriculture. Through this partnership, farmers will now have access to data and consultancy to properly analyze, store and use the information for long-term financial outcomes.

Bubba’s Raises $650,000

Company plans expansion
Loveland-based Bubba’s Fine Foods raised $650,000. The paleo foods company is experiencing rapid growth and will use the money for marketing. Bubba’s sells its products in 1,800 stores around the country.

Organic India to Launch World's First Fairtrade Certified Supplements

Small-scale farming families in India benefit from close partnership with Organic India and Fairtrade
Boulder-based Organic India will launch the world’s first Fairtrade certified supplements during Natural Product’s Expo East in Baltimore. The certified herbal supplements include Tulsi (Holy Basil), Cinnamon, Ginger, and Trikatu. Organic India goes above and beyond the Fairtrade Standards in their work with small-scale farmers in India paying their Fairtrade and organic certification fees. The company also provides training on organic and regenerative agricultural practices and supports community projects.

Bobo’s Launches Stuff’d Bites

New product available now
Boulder-based Bobo’s continues to innovate with the launch of it’s Stuff’d Bites. Stuff’d Bites are now available in both Apple Pie and PB&J flavors. Stuff’d Bites are gluten-free with 100% whole grain oats.

Canyon Bakehouse Introduces Gluten-Free English Muffins

New products available soon
Loveland-based Canyon Bakehouse introduced a line of English muffins, available in two varieties: Original and Honey Whole Grain. With four grams of protein per muffin, they are made with whole grains, have no GMOs, and are certified Gluten-Free. The muffins will be available this month in conventional and natural grocers throughout the US.

Cooper Tea Launches First Cold Brew Tea Concentrate

Designed for restaurants and other foodservice
Boulder-beased Cooper Tea Company launch B.W. Cooper’s Organic Cold Brew Tea 11:1 Concentrate, becoming the first company to release a cold brew tea concentrate designed specifically for restaurants, coffee shops, and other commercial foodservice. The tea concentrate offers operators a simple way to add cold brew tea to the menu without burdening staff with a time-consuming preparation process. 

Ethan’s Launches MCT Shot Line

Company plans to increase distribution this fall
Boulder-based Ethan’s launched an MCT Shot line in Whole Foods. The new four-SKU line includes: Coffee, Matcha, Orange Cacao, and Turmeric Ginger. Ethan’s has entered Sprouts, Earth Fare, and Fresh Thyme and the company is planning to move from the natural channel into conventional with launches in Kroger banner stores including Fred Meyer and King Soopers in the fall.

Coconut Cloud Plant-Based Coffee Creamers Launch New Flavor

Vegan coffee creamer gets a salty-sweet makeover
Denver-based Coconut Cloud announced an addition to their existing product line of vegan coffee creamers. Inspired by category trends and overwhelming consumer feedback, Coconut Cloud introduced a Salted Caramel flavored creamer to join the ranks of their existing convenient dairy free products.

Lillabee Releases Three Flavors of Grain-Free Paleo Brownie Thins

Products available throughout the Rocky Mountain region 
Boulder-based Lillabee Grain Free launched a line of Brownie Thins. The new Paleo products are now available on Amazon Prime and throughout the Rocky Mountain region at Whole Foods and Lucky’s Market. 

The a2 Milk Company Launches into Walmart 

a2 Milk continues to aggressively drive brand awareness and store distribution partnerships with national retailers
Boulder-based The a2 Milk Company secured distribution into Walmart stores across New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas, Maryland, and Washington DC. In addition to Walmart, consumers can find a2 Milk at more than 6,000 retail outlets in the U.S.  An increase in year-over-year global sales helped fuel a 68 percent rise in total combined annual revenue for The a2 Milk Company.

Boulder Clean Expands in Three Whole Foods Market Regions 

Products found at 137 new Whole Foods locations
Boulder-based Boulder Clean All-Natural Cleaning Products are now available in three new regions of Whole Foods Markets. In addition to the Rocky Mountain Region, Boulder Clean will be available in the Pacific Northwest, Northern California, and the Southern Pacific Regions. The products are now on shelves at a total of 137 new Whole Foods Market locations.

Cusa Tea Hits National Distribution with Sprouts

New Spicy Chai becomes a top seller
Boulder-based Cusa Tea continues its explosive growth by adding Sprouts nationwide as well as Safeway Denver division. With these additions, Cusa Tea finds themselves in over 1,000 retailers after just 15 months in business and will be in 1,500 by the end of the year. Cusa also added their first new flavor, Spicy Chai, which has quickly become the #1 selling product.

Rollingreens Takes Millet Tots Nationwide with New Retailers

Company is actively raising funds
Boulder-based Rollingreens has increased distribution to more than 1,000 locations with the recent addition of Kroger, Wegmans and Central Markets. To support its scaling efforts, Rollingreens is in the process of raising $500,000 in a convertible note with an expected close of October 31. Aside from taking on a partner two years ago, this round will mark the company’s first raise.

Green Belly Foods Accepted into Natural Grocers

Flagship hot sauces lead company's Guatemalan flavors into stores
Boulder-based Green Belly Foods launched Chirmol across Front Range farmers markets, kicked off the second annual Habanero Hero Challenge and was accepted into Natural Grocers. 

Acme Distribution Announces New Location in Seattle 

Company also expands its facility in Harrisburg, PA
Denver-based Acme Distribution announced the opening of a new state of the art warehouse in Seattle, WA and expansion of its existing facility in Harrisburg, PA.  The expansion better positions Acme to support the growth of warehouse and fulfillment services to existing and prospective clients.

FSMA was signed into law in 2011.  The compliance dates for small and very small businesses have hit in 2017 and 2018. If you have a food company, you need to know how this law impacts you. FSMA enables FDA to focus on preventing food safety problems rather than reacting after they occur. The law also gives FDA new enforcement authorities to achieve higher rates of compliance with prevention- and risk-based food safety standards.

It will include an Indian Food Buffet, fermented appetizers, and deserts created by local chef Jordan Anderson, all you can drink bar, a silent auction, yard games and a photo bus!  It includes a farm tour at 6:15.
