Naturally Network Launches at Expo West 2019

Naturally Boulder extends its model to four affiliates across the US
Naturally Network will make Natural Products Expo West its launch pad on March 7. This new national organization becomes a reality after a year of mounting interest to further expand the model of Naturally Boulder to other cities across the nation.  NB's first affiliate was Naturally Bay Area in 2018. Two recent affiliates to join the Naturally Network -- Naturally Chicago and Naturally Austin -- will be activated with the announcement of this national launch.  The model-adaptation has gained exceptionally swift traction in the Bay Area, where an additional affiliate, operating with a strong community for several years as North Bay FIG, will transition into Naturally North Bay later in 2019.  Each of the affiliates is united by its commitment to Naturally Network’s guiding principles which promote regenerative business practices to improve human, animal and environmental welfare. The affiliates will soon also share branding, a national member database, educational programming, annual pitch slam competitions, and community celebrations.

Naturally Boulder Improves Member Portal

Members gain connectivity throughout Naturally Boulder and the Naturally Network
March 1, Naturally Boulder launched an improved member portal with increased functionality to enable greater connectivity, engagement, and ease in event registration. The transition to the new portal is a direct response from the membership's desire for greater online connectivity. This new tool will also introduce shared resources throughout the Naturally Network.

Naturally Boulder hosts inaugural event at Natural Products Expo West; three NB companies compete in the Expo West Pitch-Slam

Danone North America Builds Largest Plant-Based Production Facility in the US

Facility is in DuBois, Pennsylvania 
Louisville-based Danone North America opened a new building at the company’s DuBois, Pennsylvania facility to increase production of its plant-based foods.  This is now the largest production facility making plant-based yogurt alternatives in the U.S.

Boulder Food Group Raises $100 Million

Initial investment will go to Olipop
Boulder Food Group (BFG), an investment firm that partners with innovative and socially conscious food and beverage companies, closed its second fund at more than $100 million.  The fund, BFG Fund II, makes its initial investment in Olipop, the first clinically-backed flavored-tonic beverage that benefits the microbiome and digestive health.  

Rowdy Mermaid Raises $3.5 Million

Funding to increase growth in new product lines
Boulder-based Rowdy Mermaid Kombucha secured $3.5 million in a Series A funding round to grow its product line. The round was led by KarpReilly, a US private investment firm with a portfolio of emerging brands including Spindrift, and KeVita, Zola Coconut Water. Other investors include Justin Gold, founder of Justin’s and Brendan Synnott, co-founder of Bear Naked. 

SPINS Partners with Green Spoon Sales 

Partnership to improve connection between brands and retailers
Chicago-based SPINS announced a new partnership with Green Spoon Sales, a natural food and beverage brokerage specializing in disruptive emerging consumer packaged goods brands. This partnership builds further connectivity for retailers and manufacturers aligned with both Green Spoon and SPINS to support their growth.

1908 Brands To Launch Bundle Organics at Expo West

Company names Whitney Port Chief Brand and Strategy Officer
Boulder-based 1908 Brands will launch their newest brand, Bundle Organics at Natural Products Expo West. 1908 Brands hired Whitney Port as Chief Brand and Strategy Officer as she developed Bundle Organics with business partner John Mascari. 

Good Karma Foods Launches New Products

Plant-Based Dips and Sour Cream hit shelves this spring
Boulder-based Good Karma Foods launched new plant-based Sour Cream, French Onion and Ranch Dips, all free of the major allergens, MSG and carrageenan. The new products will debut at Natural Products Expo West and hit retail in this spring.

Goddess Garden Launches SPF 50 Formulas 

Company introduces new packaging to reflect product innovation
Boulder-based Goddess Garden renovated its mineral sunscreen with a more powerful SPF 50 line. The new formulas are made with premium, sheer minerals and plant-powered ingredients. To showcase the new formulas, Goddess Garden introduced new packaging, reflecting the increased protection and user benefits.

Quinn Snacks Launches Gluten Free Filled Pretzel Nuggets 

New products available exclusively at Whole Foods Market 
Boulder-based Quinn Snacks launched two new products, Peanut Butter Filled Pretzel Nuggets and Dark Chocolate’y Peanut Filled Pretzel Nuggets. The Gluten-Free peanut butter filled nuggets are the first of this snack on the market to be Gluten-Free. The nuggets will be unveiled at Expo West and are available exclusively at Whole Foods Market.

LoveTheWild Relaunches Brand

New offerings roll out in March
Boulder-based LoveTheWild is relaunching its sustainably-farmed fish kits. The relaunch introduces several new meal solutions with equally demanding standards for quality, nutrition and convenience. The LoveTheWild relaunch begins its rollout in early March at Whole Foods Market nationally, followed by additional retailers.

Teatulia Launches New Product Line

Company releases four flavors of Tea Soda
Denver-based Teatulia launched a new line of Tea Sodas. The organic and ethically-sourced sodas feature real brewed tea, fruit, and herbs. Tea Soda flavors include Green Tea, Black Tea, Lemongrass Tea, and Mint Tea.  The lineup will initially be offered in food service venues across the United States. Teatulia will launch its retail business in the Rocky Mountain region this year. 

MindFull Launches Two New Ready-to-Drink Teas Nationwide

Startup Introduces GAIAM Organic Green Tea and VIBE Organic Electrolyte Black Tea
Boulder-Based MindFull launched two ready-to-drink organic electrolyte teas in various retailers nationwide. GAIAM is available in mint, lemon, pomegranate and hibiscus.  VIBE is available in peach, mint, lemon, and pomegranate.

Yai’s Thai to Launch Two New Products

Company debuts Sweet Chili and Pad Thai sauces at Expo West
Denver-based Yai’s Thai will introduce Sweet Chili Sauce and Pad Thai Sauce at Natural Products Expo West. Both SKUs adhere to the same nutritional/ingredient standards as the rest of the Yai’s Thai line: Whole30 Approved and paleo, gluten free, vegan, non-GMO, and low sodium. The products will be released on the Yai’s Thai website and Amazon this month and enter Whole Foods Market this summer.

JJ's Sweet's To Launch Coconut Palm Sugar Cocomel 

New product debuts at Expo West
Boulder-based JJ's Sweets will unveil the newest flavor in the Cocomels line, the Coconut Palm Sugar Cocomel, at Natural Products Expo West.

Coconut Cloud Launches Product in New Format

Vegan Hot Cocoa Mix now available in single serve package 
Denver-based Coconut Cloud released a single-serve dairy free hot cocoa stick pack. This cocoa is vegan, gluten free, soy free, non-GMO, and made with a premium dried coconut milk powder. The single serve vegan hot cocoa mix is available on Amazon. 

The a2 Milk Company Achieves National Distribution

Company adds Kroger and Albertsons/Safeway
Boulder-based The a2 Milk Company expanded distribution with Kroger and Albertsons/Safeway bringing the company’s total distribution to approximately 12,400 outlets operated by 80 major grocers across the country.  These additions complete the company’s goal of achieving national geographic distribution in the U.S. market. 

Lily’s Sweets Continues Strong Growth 

Distribution increases to 10,000 stores
Boulder-based Lily's Sweets' 2018 sales were up 165% in the multi-outlet, and 95% in the natural channel, while it has continued to double its business in Whole Foods Market year over year. Lily’s is the top contributor to natural chocolate bar category growth across channels, driving 72% of total category dollars compared to a year ago. The company’s strong distribution has increased form 3,000 stores in 2017 to 10,000 stores at the beginning of 2019.

Birch Benders Launches Keto Mix in Target

Product features 5g net carbs
Boulder-based Birch Benders is tapping into the keto craze with a pancake and waffle mix made with almond flour, tigernut flour, coconut flour, cassava starch, and buttermilk.  The product features 5g net carbs  The keto pancake and waffle mix is available at Target.

Bubba's Fine Foods to Launch Fresh Look at Expo West

Company rebrands with bold new look
Loveland-based Bubba’s Fine Foods will unveil new branding at Natural Products Expo West. The company offers 'Nana Chips, Snack Mixes filled with banana chips, pecans, and cashews, as well as a line of UnGranola.

Chef Soraya To Reveal Refreshed Brand at Expo West

Snack lines are Paleo friendly
Boulder-based Chef Soraya is relaunching at Natural Products Expo West with a new focus on macro bowls. The company has lowered sodium, added hemp and quinoa to increase protein.
