Yasso, Inc. Pioneers Functional, Frozen Refreshment with the Launch of First Incubator Brand, Jüve Pops

Yasso, Inc. recently announced the launch of its first incubator brand, Jüve Pops, a functional, vitamin- and electrolyte-packed water-based pop. After over a decade of innovating within frozen Greek yogurt, the company is continuing to identify opportunities within the category where they can deliver great taste and quality nutrition. The new brand provides pops made with real fruit and less sugar, blended and frozen with hydrating, energizing vitamins and electrolytes.


Organic India Launches Six New Adaptogenic Supplements

ORGANIC INDIA USA recently launched six new adaptogenic formulas in retail stores across the country, including Essential Immune, Immune Aid, Full Breath, Energy Restore, Essential Female, and Essential Male. With their myriad of benefits, adaptogens are gaining traction during a time when consumers are being forced to face unimagined challenges and are looking to boost their immune systems.


Quinn Snacks Creates ‘Band of Brands’ to Improve Supply Chain

With the launch of the working group Band of Brands, Quinn Snacks founder and CEO Kristy Lewis hopes she can help food and beverage companies have a bigger impact on the supply chain. The initiative aims to unite CPG brands seeking to utilize ingredients grown with regenerative agriculture processes. To start, the group will focus on cassava, sorghum, sunflower oil, rice flour and tapioca — all ingredients Quinn Snacks utilizes and has had issues, at times, obtaining from sustainable-focused suppliers.

Meati Secures $18 Million to Scale Production of Groundbreaking Alternative Meats

Meati Foods announced it has received $18 million in additional capital to finance construction and equipment for the company’s innovative “Urban Ranch” production facilities – putting the company on a direct path to a 2022 nationwide consumer launch for Meati’s category-defining, protein-packed alternative meats. The new debt financing will enable Meati to quickly scale capacity. The company expects to produce millions of pounds of Meati in the new Urban Ranch by next year – making it one of the first companies in the world to scale production of whole-cut alternative meat. In the meantime, Meati expects limited launches of some products this year while remaining focused on capacity growth.


Colorado-Based, Woman-Owned Wingman Smart Energy® Launches at 180+ Circle K® Convenience Stores Statewide

Moonlight Beverage Company, the makers of Wingman Smart Energy, recently announced that its functional energy beverage is now available at all 189 locations of Circle K convenience stores across Colorado, including the Front Range. Wingman Smart Energy aims to shake up the energy drink category with innovative ingredients as part of the company's expansion plans for national distribution and growth. Boulder-based Cofo Provisions recently announced that their sustainably-sourced marine collagen is now available online at the sustainable marketplace, Hive. Hive and Cofo Provisions are committed to providing quality ingredients to their customers that are both equitable and sustainable. Cofo's commitment to give back 1% of gross sales through their program, D’s Trees and Greens, aligns with Hive’s mission to connect people who want to shop their values with brands that live those values.


DiNoci Dairy Free Launches 3 New Flavors for Spring 2021

Boulder-based DiNoci Natural Foods announced the launch of three new plant-based frozen desserts, including the company’s first foray into oat milk-based options. DiNoci’s new oat milk flavors are Strawberry and Oatmeal Cookie while Peanut Butter Chocolate was added to the company’s almond milk based lineup. DiNoci Dairy Free uses premium, non-GMO Verified ingredients and all of the company’s offerings are gum- and additive-free. DiNoci’s plant-based frozen desserts are also dairy-free, gluten-free and soy-free. DiNoci is available in most Colorado Whole Foods Markets as well as a variety of other fine grocers and restaurants.

Last Chance for Packaging Survey Plus Gift Card

It's your last chance to take the Boulder County packaging survey and receive a $25 Downtown Boulder gift card (limited amount remaining; first come first serve).
Boulder County and Resource Recycling Systems are conducting a brief survey of Boulder County food and beverage manufacturers. The results of the survey will inform the development of an incentive-based pilot program aimed at supporting Boulder County businesses in the transition to sustainable packaging. The survey closes Friday, May 7.

The program hopes to launch the pilot in the Summer of 2021. If you are a local food and beverage manufacturer and are interested in collaborating, participating, or learning more, please email Sustainability Specialist Deandra Croissant at


Call for Packaging Story Submissions

OSC is working on a Summer Packaging Campaign in June and July that seeks to create a platform for action and generate awareness around the reduction of plastics in our products, packaging, and personal lives. The 8-week campaign will include consumer and industry calls to action, advocacy channels to influence policy and infrastructure, and brand storytelling to share best practices and stories of progress from CPG brands across the globe.

OSC wants to highlight the milestones and progress across our industry, and requests that you share your stories that you'd like to be featured in the below survey. Have you transitioned to PCR? Made the jump to compostable films? Are you using sustainable fibers, or innovative bioplastics? Maybe you are working on a light-weighting project to reduce the impact of your packaging portfolio? New US Scientific Study Suggests a2 Milk® May Cause Fewer Symptoms of Lactose Intolerance Amongst American Adults

A new clinical study conducted by Indiana’s Purdue University Meredith Professor of Nutrition, Dennis Savaiano, indicates that some people who suffer stomach discomfort after drinking conventional milk may have significantly reduced symptoms if they consume milk that contains only the A2 beta casein protein type and is A1 beta-casein protein free. The report published in the European based Nutrients Journal1 also reported a significant difference between milk containing only A2 protein (and no A1 protein) compared to conventional milk with lower levels of A2 protein.
