Happy Holidays!

We celebrate this wonderful season with art, music, story, song, sharing ... and so much more. Bravo to all who share your talents and your venues to create joy and spark thoughtfulness throughout Northern Michigan. And, with gratitute, thank you to all who have joined us in 2019 - for the Regional Arts & Culture Summit, for a workshop, for a roundtable, for an MCACA workshop, for a happy hour, sharing your ideas and info, cross promoting and adding your voice as we continue to build our Northwest Michigan Arts & Culture Network. This has been a grassroots effort that is growing thanks to you. Looking forward to moving forward in 2020.

Final Reports: As projects are completed, final reports can be completed at mcaca.egrant.net using the same log-in information for the original application and all prior MCACA applications. Final payment will be processed within 30 days after approved.

No Round 2 Funds: Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs announced that some regions would be holding a Round 2 for minigrant applications. Unfortunately, all funds for Region 2 were awarded during Round 1. There will be no Round 2 held in January for Region 2 (Northwest Michigan). The next minigrant deadline is 8/3/20 for FY21.

IPR Hosts Free Artist Workshop with Eric Booth, 1/28

Actor and international arts leader Eric Booth will lead an open workshop on helping artists connect with audiences on Tuesday, 1/28, 7pm, at Horizon Books in Traverse City.  Hosted by Interlochen Public Radio, Booth will demonstrate methods he has developed over a lifetime for helping artists create more enriching experiences. Building on his experiences as a Broadway performer, author and teacher at The Juilliard School, he says most Americans feel like outsiders to the arts and artists can change this. Artists of all kinds and anyone interested in building a vibrant arts scene in our community are encouraged to attend this free event. For more information & RSVP, see Interlochen Public Radio’s Facebook event page.
Volunteer? We need your help to build the network and strengthen our connections through the 10-county region. Commitment can easily be tailored to fit availability and interests. Committees and task groups are forming for Membership, PR/Advocacy (including social media champions), Artist Support, Fund Development, Learning and Regional Engagement. Interested? Questions?
