Library News: April 2017

Free Movie Event

Join us on Saturday, April 8th at 6pm at the Winhall Community Arts Center. The Winhall Memorial Library and the Winhall Community Arts Center will be hosting a free showing of the movie based on the best-selling book "A Monster Calls," by Patrick Ness. There will be free popcorn and candy! We would appreciate a count beforehand to ensure seating. Please call 802-297-9741 or email: winhalllibrary@comcast.net to RSVP. We will be showing movies every month on the second Saturday!

April is National Poetry Month-Visit the library to make a book spine poem. 

April Book Discussion

Join us on Saturday, April 29th at 1pm to discuss the 2017 Vermont Reads "Brown Girl Dreaming" by Jacqueline Woodson and “Witness” by Karen Hesse. Copies of both books are available at the library. The Vermont Humanities Council has awarded the library 30 copies of “Brown Girl Dreaming” to share with the community. Stop by the library to get your complimentary copy. This is an informal group, all that is needed is a love of books. Refreshments will be served. Any questions please call 802-297-9741 or email winhalllibrary@comcast.net.

Thanks to the Winhall Community Arts Center for organizing another successful community luncheon! A special thanks to William Raveis Winhall Real Estate! Thanks to all that brought food and yummy desserts! We shared lunch with 21 wonderful people! Next month’s luncheon will be on Thursday, April 20th at 12pm. All are welcome! Please RSVP to 802-297-1586 by 4/19/17.

Spring/Summer Hours:
Beginning May 1, 2017 the library hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays 2pm-7pm and Saturdays 10am-12pm. 
New books for children!
The library now has a bucket for donations to the Winhall Stratton Community Food Shelf.
Save the date! 
We will be showing the film La La Land on Saturday, May 13th at 6pm at the Winhall Community Arts Center. We will be showing movies each month on the second Saturday. 

Call to Artists at the Winhall Memorial Library

The library would like to share our display space with local artists; for works of various media, such as paintings and photography. We are currently showcasing the artwork of Ely Porter. Please come in to see his wonderful creations. The space is available on a monthly, first come basis. Please call Dawn at 802-297-9741, or email winhalllibrary@comcast.net to reserve a spot.
