January 29, 2020

Dear Pastors, Friends, and Prayer Partners:

January has been an incredible month of off-the-chart blessings and opportunities.  Here is a run-down of our month:

Baptist College of Ministry Spiritual Life Conference in Menomonee Falls, WI

My friend Harold Vaughan and I preached together for this second semester kick-off revival. BCM is a smaller college with some really great students who are preparing to serve the Lord in full-time ministry. Harold’s preaching was phenomenal and he helped all of us in many, many areas.  I felt led to preach from Galatians 5-6 and the Lord really blessed in each of those messages as well.  I always love serving young people who are on fire for God! This is a good ministry and I hope you will pray for these students as they prepare for ministry.

Single’s Retreat at Southland Christian Camp in Ringgold LA

From BCM, I flew straight to Southland to preach to a fine group of single young adults. The services were very blessed and the response to the preaching was very encouraging.

Calvary Baptist Church of Red Bank Revival, Chattanooga, TN

This was my first time to speak to the good folks at Calvary and we had some really good services. It was my privilege to serve with my friend and their new pastor, Greg Powell. I am excited about the potential of this good church in the days ahead. During the week, several trusted in Christ and the final service was especially blessed as many responded to God’s Word.  The Children’s Revival saw several saved as well!

Pensacola Christian College Opening Services, Pensacola, FL

Bethlie Joy and I graduated from PCC (a few years ago) and are always blessed and honored by the privilege to return to campus.  Dr. Troy Shoemaker, President of the College, and Dr. Jeff Redlin, Pastor of Campus Church, welcomed us warmly and treated us royally during our time there. It was an incredible blessing to address the church and the student body. I sensed God’s Spirit working in every service and have received more than a few follow-up texts and messages in regards to how God used His Word to revive many hearts within the student body.  God is blessing at PCC and I am happy to recommend it to you.

Men’s Prayer Advance, Roanoke WV

The Men’s Prayer Advance is always a highlight meeting for me.  My friend Evangelist Harold Vaughan hosts the advance and almost 800 men attended.  The only way I know to describe this meeting is that it was “off the charts” in every single way.  The prayer times were anointed. The music was anointed. Our fellowship was anointed.  I believe the preaching was as well. Men with open hearts worshiped unashamedly, gladly received God’s word, publicly made decisions for Christ, and departed on fire for God!  I loved preaching to these men and I loved hearing others preach as well.  You should get a few men together and attend next year.  I am absolutely confident that you will be glad you did!

Barnhardt Baptist Church Revival, Goodview VA

We had a great time with the folks at this country church and I was thrilled to have my friend Pastor Dan Vaughn join me to lead the service. We had great crowds and great services. Here is a testimony from one of the ladies in the meeting: “WOW!!! That's all I can say about our revival this week!! I want to be "all in" for Christ!! I want to serve Him wholeheartedly, with no reservations! I want to love Him and His people without hesitation! I want to be willing to do anything and everything I can for Him without complaint!! I want a sweet spirit, a meek nature, a willing, surrendered heart!! I am so thankful for a God who takes a personal interest in me!! He's done so much for me, I want to be all in for Him!!!”  Praise God.

Men’s Barn Meeting in Chumuckla, FL

I drove straight home yesterday in order to preach the gospel at this special meeting that a local business man hosts several times a year.  Praise God for 6 men who prayed to be saved and for many others who responded to the message as well.  It was worth the trip home.

I am so thankful for all of you who pray for us and support us.  Keep it up, will you?  Micah Self is on deputation and will head back to India in a few weeks.  Nicholas continues to serve in my meetings and God’s hand is on his life.  We are blessed!

Here is one BIG prayer request. We have lived in the Lord’s RV now for 20 years.  It has covered about 800,000 miles and is showing definite signs that we need to replace it. We can purchase a brand new one for about $60,000.  Please pray with me about that. I told God this week that this RV that He is letting me use needs to be replaced and asked Him to give us wisdom and to provide.  I am confident that He will lead us about that. In fact, last night, a gift of almost $900 was designated for that very thing! So God is on the move and I can’t wait to see what He will do.

I love you all.

Your sincere friend,

Dave Young
