Exhibition District Becomes Local Color!
In April of 2015, we got the official notice: Exhibition District got it’s nonprofit status from the IRS. We were Elated. 5 amazing murals later, at the end of 2016 we added a new project, Local Color.
Local Color (n.) /ˈlōkəl ˈkələr/
1. the customs, manner of speech, dress, or other typical features of a place or period that contribute to its particular character.
2. the natural color of a thing in ordinary daylight, uninfluenced by the proximity of other colors.
So here it is: We are officially changing the organization’s name to Local Color. To honor what we’ve learned and embrace this next chapter of our mission, we felt it was time to update our name to fully encompass our mission and reflect our commitment to San Jose’s creative community!
Please join us September 13th, 2019 from 6pm - 9pm at our final Galley Sale, a celebration as we say goodbye to 27 S First Street, and “hello!” to the next iteration of Local Color! We've got some pretty juicy news that you will have to come and see for yourself! RSVP below!
