We envision a world where everyone has access to a safe, sustainable source of water and sanitation.
Call for submissions: water as an instrument for peace

Young people have a lens on their future and a unique perspective on Blue Peace. For this reason, we are calling on all young water leaders - regardless of their medium - to inspire hearts and minds with work that pays tribute to the shared flowing waters that bring peace.

This call for proposals has been designed to provide a place for reflection and creativity, as well as to enable young people to formulate messages as well as perspectives on water as an instrument for peace. It welcomes contributions from young people with varied backgrounds, interests, and experiences to share their visions of Blue Peace. Hydrologists with a penchant for photography or ballerinas with a passion for peace are all equally welcome. Academics are welcome to present their thesis in three minutes or in a format limited only by their imaginations.

YOUR PERSPECTIVE ON PEACE

Drawing on your own experiences with water and peace, your own activism, projects, and advocacy actions - share your story of engaging with water as an instrument of peace in one of the following formats:

  • Music - a movement you have composed
  • Visual Art - a painting, photography, sculpture
  • Literature - short stories, poems, essays (2 500 words maximum)
  • Performing Arts - drama, monologue, dance
  • Modern media - animated videos, augmented reality, gifs

For example, if you are an academic, think of how to translate your water work into a medium that can be a resource that is easily shared and which gives visibility to conversations on water and peace.
