Help Us Support Our Local Candidates: Midterm Match is Here!

With only nine weeks until the midterms (!), we're working to do everything in our power to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot who will work to fight for all of us here in Northeastern Wisconsin no matter where we come from, what we do, or who we love. Lucky for us, we have some really incredible community leaders who have stepped forward this cycle and have been working tirelessly to get out and talk to voters in their districts.

We've been phone banking and canvassing on behalf of the candidates, but as we hurtle toward Election Day, we would love to be able to financially contribute to each of their campaigns - and we'd love your help! Funds raised by 5PM on Monday, September 12 will be matched up to $1,500!

These days, every dollar counts when it comes to political campaigns. The funds we raise together for our candidates could be used for mailers, radio or TV ads, and paid posts on social media - all necessary vehicles when it comes to getting our folks across the finish line in November! Please donate what you're able today via the link below. We'll announce the total amount raised at this Monday's meeting!

Step Off the Sidelines: Midterms are coming!

By Kelly Fenton, Political Outreach Committee

While Republicans are turning off voters with their increasing extremism, the Democratic Party is showing voters it can get things done in a big way.

With recent legislation on climate change, deficit reduction, student loan relief, medicare drug and insulin caps and more, we are riding a wave of momentum!

And our recent Weekend of Action on Aug. 27-28 followed that trend with our best turnout of new canvassers and phone bankers since the 2020 election. Even a washout of Saturday’s afternoon canvass couldn’t dampen the optimism the POC came away with after seeing new folks sign up and come back with so many positive stories to tell. These are people who really felt they were making a difference and are eager to do it again during our Sept. 17-18 weekend of action or even on weekdays. The fact is, we can get you a turf to canvass at your convenience! We don’t care when you do it; we just care that you do it.

See all of our canvassing, canvass training and phone banking opportunities on our calendar here.

We all know what’s at stake. We all feel the urgency. We are now asking you to get off the sidelines and help us keep the momentum going. Never done it before? Come to one of our extensive training sessions and go out with a veteran canvasser your first time. See how easy and rewarding it is. I’ve done that twice in the past two weeks and both times, the first-timer was blown away by how many voters are eager to talk and eager for information – and how energizing it is to engage with them.

We’re less than two months away from November 8. We have so many great state-wide candidates, starting with Gov. Evers, Attorney General Josh Kaul, US Senate candidate Mandela Barnes and more to elect. We also have a slate of great local candidates to tell our voters about, from Rep. Lee Snodgrass to Kristin Alfheim to Patrick Hayden. There’s also Stefanie Holt, Bill Switalla, Andrea Gage-Michaels and Joey Van Deurzen. They are all making the ultimate sacrifice of time, money and emotion. Their efforts demand our efforts.

Remember, it’s not just our candidates on the ballot; it is democracy itself. Let’s do all we can to save it. Don’t let the blue wave wash over you. Come ride it with us!
