The British High Commission Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with the Penang Green Council and Institute for Research and Development for Policy (IRDP) is pleased to share that we are kick-starting the Science for Climate Action Seminar Series. Let us directly listen from scientists on what does the Climate Change data and analysis inform, ask questions to better understand climate science, and aspire to incorporate these evidences and analysis to drive credible climate action in our respective fields.

Professor Jim Skea
Professor of Sustainable Energy at Imperial College, Co-Chair of IPCC Working Group III Mitigation of Climate Change for the 6th assessment cycle. Former Research Director of the UK Energy Research Centre, Former Director of the Policy Studies Institute and Former member of the UK Committee on Climate Change. Awarded a CBE for services to sustainable energy in 2013 and an OBE for services to sustainable transport in 2004.
Professor Dr. Joy Jacqueline Pereira
Principal Research Fellow at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia’s Southeast Asia Disaster Prevention Research Initiative (SEADPRI-UKM), Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. Vice-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group 2 on Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability. Coordinating Lead Author for the Asia Chapter of the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report released (March 2014). Member of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Asia Pacific Science, Technology and Academic Group (APSTAAG), Director of the Asian Network on Climate Science and Technology (ANCST), working closely with University of Cambridge.
