Good afternoon!

This newsletter is long overdue. Consider this update a "catch-up" email, on everything that happened with Grow The Richmond volunteers in February and March.

Additionally, as usual we've included several calls to action on various upcoming opportunities to volunteer in the remaining two weeks of April.

In February/March, Grow The Richmond volunteers:

  1. Joined fellow YIMBY neighborhood clubs throughout the city in saying YES to housing at the Balboa Reservoir
  2. Spoke in favor of the 8th Ave Neighborway
  3. Supported our very own Jane Natoli as she won a seat on the SF Bicycle Coalition Board! (congrats also to Andy Thornley, another D1 resident and GtR volunteer)
  4. Spoke out in favor of SB 827, which would make it legal to build mid-rise housing near mass transit.
  5. Attended several Meet the Candidate events and the Urbanist Mayoral Debate hosted by YIMBY Action
  6. Continued supporting the ongoing effort to gather signatures to streamline the approval of 100% affordable housing proposals. (P.S, they're hiring & ramping up hiring to hit their goals, know someone who could use the experience/money?)

CALLS TO ACTION
Below are a few critical things you can do right now to help Grow The Richmond and the broader YIMBY movement:

Vote on a New Logo
It is long overdue, but it's time for us to shed the old logo from November 2016 and pick something new. We're down to the final 6 choices. Help us decide what the new logo should be.

Contact Supervisor Fewer
Please email Supervisor Sandra Fewer and let her know that you're a member of Grow The Richmond. Urge her to follow up on her housing promises from the 2016 campaign and publicly identify 3-5 locations where dense mid-rise affordable housing should be built in the Richmond District
