Action 1: The Judiciary Committee
Republicans are sending Congressman Nadler’s resolution to investigate DT’s conflicts of interests to The Judiciary Committee (who is prepared to vote it down) in order to avoid an embarrassing full roll-call vote. Call your member of Congress, and tell them to speak out against this cover-up. If your congressperson is on the Judiciary Committee, it is especially important to call:
SCRIPT: Hi, My name is _____ and I’m calling from _____. I’d like Rep. _____ to speak out publicly in support of Congressman Nadler’s resolution to investigate the President’s conflicts of interest.
[IF NOT ON COMMITTEE] I'm concerned that sending this resolution to the Judiciary Committee will kill it, and I'd like the Senator to do everything in his power to keep it alive.
[IF ON JUDICIARY COMMITTEE] Please vote to move this resolution forward to a full house vote.

Action 2: House Ways and Means Committee
Even though 74% of Americans believe that the president should release his tax returns, 23 members of the House Ways and Means Committee voted against Congressman Bill Pascrell’s resolution, which would have allowed the committee to privately examine these returns to determine conflicts of interest. If you live in one of these districts, contact these reps. by phone or at a town hall and express your outrage. Reach out to others in these districts, too! These people need to be called out for not representing the interests of their constituents.
SCRIPT: Hi, My name is _____ and I’m calling from _____. I am outraged that Rep. _____ voted against Congressman Pascrell’s amendment to allow the Ways and Means Committee to request the President’s tax returns. 74% of Americans want these returns released to assure that the President has no conflicts of interest. You are impeding democracy by voting against this private process, and I will be watching your subsequent actions in this matter.
