Niclette, a young girl in Congo, became an orphan at a young age when her father drowned and her mother died from a snake bite. Her unhappiness was evident to everyone in the community and many withdrew from her. But one girl, named Zina, began telling her about Jesus and invited Niclette to Sunday school.
The Sunday school was started by ECM trainers and, when the teacher, Bedel, saw Niclette, she realized she was an orphan and her heart went out to her. The teacher shared the good news of Jesus with Niclette, and Niclette received Jesus as her Savior and Lord! After this, Bedel felt God impressing on her heart to give Niclette the day’s Sunday school offering which totaled about 50¢.
With the money Niclette bought some fish and began selling it on the side, while also going to school. In three years, she had made $25 and was regularly replacing her stock! Niclette is now 10 years old, in fourth grade, and leads the Sunday school choir. She is the first Christian in her family. All because of a friend’s invitation to Sunday school, a gift of 50¢ from a sensitive Sunday school teacher, and an ECM trainer who helped one church start a Sunday school for children.

• Supply chain issues, political instability, and COVID-19 have caused severe food crisis issues in Uganda, where many of our children reside. We have noticed many of our children losing weight and families begging for help to buy food. Pray for wisdom as our staff determines how to help, and peace for these families in desperate need.
• U.S. staff is working out some kinks with our new software - SiteStacker. This can sometimes be time consuming and frustrating to staff and our accountant. Pray for issues to be resolved quickly, but that we would also gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of the software.

Everlyne (15) lives with her Aunt in the Kamwokya slums in a small house that leaks when it rains. Her aunt brings in a little income but not enough to both feed everyone and send the children to school. Sadly, Everlyne is often overworked and usually eats less than one meal a day. She was in Primary 7 but had to drop out, and hadn’t been in school for at least 2 years before joining ECM.
