Message From Our Principal

Dear SJM Families,
FAMILY NIGHT: Thank you for supporting our Family Night last Thursday.  Kudos to Mrs. Katherine Scott for presenting the children with traditional Easter songs.   Food was from Cervantes Catering, a SJM family.  Mrs. Mandy Gonzales was announced as this year’s Parent Leadership Award winner.  Thank you for all you do Mrs. Gonzales! Congratulations to Samantha Tovar, 2019 Carter Scholarship Award winner.  Samantha is a part of the Class of 2020.
CONGRATULATIONS: Next week features all activities leading up to graduation on Thursday, the 30th for the Class of 2019.  These students continue forward as responsible, faith-filled students with a love for learning and the ability to communicate and present themselves at their best.

FAITH FACT: “Come quickly! The Blessed Virgin is here at the Church! - Knock is a simple Irish village of hardworking, God-fearing farmers. The evening of August 21, 1879 was special. As evening came, a steady downpour began. Few were outside, but those hearty souls noticed a heavenly light emanating from the village church. An elderly lady saw the light. She looked at it intently and then cried out, “The Blessed Virgin!” A man ran through the streets shouting, “Come quickly! The Blessed Virgin is here at the Church!”  Witnesses saw a heavenly apparition on the exterior of the southern wall of their parish church, St. John the Baptist. For more than two hours, Our Lady, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist were present on that gable.
Become a better version of yourself.
Join the parish.

God bless you,
Mrs. Balsis

High School Placement Test (HSPT) Math Skills Camp
2019-2020 Incoming 7TH & 8TH Grade Students

The Camp will focus on the Quantitative and Math portion of the High School Placement Test (HSPT), with emphasis on review, remediation, and practice of math skills and concepts. The goal of the camp is to identify the student’s math weaknesses and allow for concentrated continuing practice in those areas. The camp will give the student experience with practical test-taking strategies, content, and evaluation of areas to be improved upon. This knowledge will give the student the opportunity to practice and improve their math skills and be responsible for their own success.
