Publishing House Dedicates Two Presses
by Almir Marroni | Publishing Ministries Director, General Conference
The Source of Life Publishing House (SOLPH) in Russia held a special ceremony in February to dedicate two printing presses that were acquired as a result of a miracle.
The first, a Komori four-color printing press, was donated by College Press in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. This excellent machine will be used to produce four-color books both for literature evangelists and church members. It will enhance the quality of several SOLPH’s products.
The second machine is a Zircon web press that will be used to print monthly missionary newspapers to be distributed by church members throughout Russia and other countries in the Euro-Asia Division (ESD) territory. The web press was purchased with funds raised through a special Sabbath offering collected in the entire division.

Howard Scoggins (left), Brad Fisher, and Rob Howell are recognized for their contribution in moving the Komori press to Russia.
We recognize the generosity of Rob Howell and Brad Fisher, College Press owners, who donated the Komori press and made a special effort to attend the dedication ceremony at SOLPH. We also appreciate the work of Howard Scoggins, former missionary and ESD Publishing Ministries director, who dedicated his time and energy to raise funds to cover the costs of shipping and other expenses to get the machine moved from the United States to Russia. Congratulations to ESD and SOLPH leaders who worked intensively to accomplish this project.

Dutch Caribbean Union Holds Publishing Training
by Almir Marroni | Publishing Ministries Director, General Conference
The Dutch Caribbean Union conducted a Publishing Ministries training in Curaçao and Aruba, two small islands located in the Caribbean Sea of the Inter-American Division. Union president and Publishing director Shurman Kook coordinated the meetings with the purpose of equipping and inspiring pastors and Publishing Ministries leaders to total involvement with literature distribution.
Kook believes in the power of literature and is passionate for missionary book distribution. This year the union chose to distribute two books: one in Papiamento presenting the sabbath message, and Mark Finley's Hope Beyond Tomorrow in Dutch.
Despite its small population, four languages are spoken in the islands: Dutch, Papiamento, Spanish, and English. The union has accepted the challenge to provide books in all these languages, especially Dutch and Papiamento.
Over the weekend Renisca Mutueel, Publishing Ministries director of the Curaçao Conference, organized a training session for literature evangelists, featuring the participation of leaders Kook, Marroni, and Erwin Gonzalez, Publishing Ministries director of the Inter-American Division.
May the Lord continue to bless our leaders and literature evangelists in the Dutch Caribbean islands.

Literature Ministry Revival in Malaysia
by Stephen Apola | Publishing Ministries Associate Director, General Conference
The Southern-Asia Pacific Division (SSD) embarked on an ambitious effort to revive and grow literature ministry in the Sarawak Mission of Malaysia. Efforts were inspired by a request from mission leaders, who acknowledged the need for mass distribution of literature among members and literature evangelists (LEs).
A week-long itinerary covered the Borneo Island cities of Kota Kinabalu, Miri, Sibu, Bintulu, and finally ended with a grand effort in Kuching on Sabbath. Meetings were attended by pastors, literature evangelists, and church members. Facilitators included Francis Lajanim, Publishing Ministries director of the Southeast Asia Union; Rey Cabanero, Publishing director of the SSD; and Stephen Apola, Publishing associate director of the General Conference.
Edmund Liah, Sarawak Mission president, reiterated the importance of the literature ministry in its mission. He devoted the entire week to attend the meetings and pledged to work to increase member involvement though the Missionary Book of the Year project.
More than 50 members enrolled to serve as literature evangelists, and many more pledged to actively engage in missionary book distribution.
