October 2019, vol. 1, no. 1

I am pleased to introduce our new monthly publication
Snapshots of Hope—with the purpose to share
inspiring stories from the front line where Adventist literature
reaches thousands of people daily.

Every minute someone gives a book or other publication to somebody else.
Somewhere in the world this is happening right now.
As GC Publishing Ministries receives stories from the “battlefield,”
we want to share them as a testimony of modern-day miracles
God performs to reach people through the printed page.

We pray that these stories will encourage you to serve Him
with all your passion and strength.

We lived in poverty. Our lives were very difficult since my husband, Mr. Vijaykumar, worked as an auto (rickshaw) driver. For some time, our two sons, Jashwanth (10) and Abiathar (6), stayed home because we couldn’t afford to pay for their school fees. While at home, they were earnestly praying to God:
“Why is our daddy working so hard? Please, give him a good job so that we can be happy in our home.”
One fine day, my husband met Mr. Manohar and Mr. Jayakumar as passengers in his auto. As Publishing Ministries directors, they were discussing literature evangelism ministry. My husband was curious and inquired about this ministry. After they explained it to him, he was invited to join as a literature evangelist.
When he got home, he told us about his experience. Excitedly, the children exclaimed:

“God has answered our prayers, so don’t say no! Please join the work!”

After joining the ministry, our lives started to improve. We were able to overcome most of our challenges.  Our sons started praying again to God:

“Please give mommy a good job as well.”

God answered their prayers, and I also decided to join my husband in the ministry.
Jashwanth and Abiathar are overjoyed and love what we do. They love it so much that they go out canvassing with us during the weekends.
My family has decided to follow Joshua's example: “As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” (Josh. 24:15). Every morning, before we leave the house, we pray for His grace. Recently, we were blessed to sell more than 150 books in two months. To God we give all the glory!

Snapshots of Hope is a monthly publication that aims to share
Literature Ministry stories with people around the world.
