Publishing House Congress Held in Israel

by Stephen Apola | Publishing Ministries Associate Director, General Conference
More than 45 Adventist publishing house executives and division Publishing Ministries directors attended the World Publishing Publishing House Congress in Jerusalem, Israel, from June 7–132019.

The theme of the congress, “Stronger Together, Reaching Everyone” was an opportunity for the global denominational publishing houses and other Publishing Ministries leaders to fellowship, promote unity, and recommit to the vision of the Adventist church while walking in the footsteps of Christ.
Publishing houses had the opportunity to show case and share their new initiatives while inspiring each other.

General Conference Publishing Ministries awarded plaques of appreciation to all the publishing houses for faithfully supporting and publishing Spirit of Prophecy books.

The department also recognized and honored Wilmar Hirle and his wife, Cleni, for a lifetime dedicated to the Publishing Ministries work, especially more than 12 years as associate director at the General Conference. Wilmar Hirle retired in February 2019.

After the meetings concluded, the group of attendees had the opportunity to participate in a historic tour of Jerusalem, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, and other key places that feature the history of Israel.
