February might be the shortest month, but it sure packs a punch!
We'll have our annual Inventory Day, ABC Amsterdam will celebrate Valentine's Day with a Single Mingle (and both stores will go all out to encourage you to go on a Blind Date with a Book), and no less than eight well-known Dutch authors will visit ABC Amsterdam in one afternoon. And of course, after the relative quiet of January, we'll have lots of new titles. The literary year is truly off the mark now.
Happy reading!
- The ABC Mailings Team

Please note that both stores will be CLOSED FOR INVENTORY on Monday 4 February.

Should you have an insatiable ABC craving that Monday: you can still shop until you drop online at abc.nl. We also have many years of content to browse through in our Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook feeds, as well as on our blog!
Our Amsterdam store was recently visited by a nine-year-old gentleman who fell in love with Betty, our book-making machine. He's writing his own book (3 pages done so far!) to be published on Betty, and he wants to apprentice with María, one of Betty's operators, when he is 13. We're carefully saving his application letter.

Another recent visitor brought in his well-filled Book Money jar.

We're big fans not just of the excellent manner in which he saved up, but also that he chose us to spend all those coins with us! We really have the best customers. Thank you for being so inventive and fun!
Did you know... that we will gladly order books for you if you can't find them on our shelves? We even have a supplier of second-hand books.
Check out abc.nl/events or sign up for our Events mailing if you want to be informed of future ABC happenings.
February is Black History Month in the US. We'll be highlighting a title or two every week during the month.
It will be difficult to choose what to highlight among the many inspiring, harrowing, comical and thought-provoking books on offer.
If you like to read the book before you see the movie, then you're in luck: we've lined up the 2019 Oscar contenders based on books along with the books celebrating their art. The awards ceremony is on 25 February so there's plenty of time to catch up on your reading.
