ABC Summer News & Events

Isn't our summer pop-up store in Stadshart Amstelveen a real beauty? We are so happy with the outcome of this project and already feel home in Amstelveen. This summer, drop by and pay us a visit!

What else has been going on?
We were thrilled by the great response to our Creative Writing Contest in collaboration with The Story Lounge: over 40 talented writers submitted their short stories! The winning stories will be announced and published in the beginning of August. Take a look at the shortlist.

We are proud to support YOUth ACT, a community-based hub for youth activism and impact entrepreneurship with their virtual book club around the topics of systemic racism and white supremacy. After having discussed White Innocence: Paradoxes of Colonialism and Race by Gloria Wekker, the dedicated group will open up a second discussion round in the fall. Watch this space and their social media channels if you are interested in attending.

LiteraryGlobe, an online community connecting readers, writers, bookstores and publishers has visited our Amsterdam store for an interview with co-owner and director Lynn Kaplanian-Buller for the first episode of their BookclubShow. Watch the full interview including a book club discussion of How We Disappeared by Jing-Jing Lee (Longlisted for the Women's Prize for Fiction 2020).

As always: check out our new arrivals and upcoming events below!
