We're always looking for new and upcoming writers who want to contribute to My Kid Is Gay, whether you are a parent, a young person, or an expert in your field. If you're interested, just fill out this form!
Parent Highlight: Julie Tarney
Julie Tarney is a speaker, author, and advocate for LGBTQIA youth. Her award-winning memoir, My Son Wears Heels: One Mom’s Journey from Clueless to Kickass and blog of the same name are about her experiences raising a gender nonconforming child in the Midwest in the 1990s and what she learned from him along the way about gender identity, gender expression, and self-acceptance. She's also been one of our brilliant contributors since the very beginning, and we are so thankful to have her share her insight and advice with our readers!
MKIG Turned FOUR!
On April 10, we celebrated My Kid Is Gay’s 4th Birthday: an exciting milestone and opportunity to reflect on what we have done and where we’re going.
We Exist is a new documentary that explores what it means to be non-binary in a world that is very slow to catch up. It features conversations with Lauren Lubin, Tyler Ford, and our very own Kristin Russo!
Thanks so much for being a part of our My Kid Is Gay community.
Happy Spring!
Kristin, Grace, & the MKIG team
