June 2022 Newsletter
When most people think of Palisades Tahoe, they think snow, since the Winter Olympics in 1960 made this a world-renowned destination for skiing. However, on the longest day of the year - the June 21st summer solstice - Olympic Valley was lush green with sunny blue skies. In other words, it was a perfect day for a TWIG meeting.
35 of Lake Tahoe’s premier wedding professionals gathered at the Palisades Tahoe aerial tram lobby, excited to take the ride to High Camp. Not all attendees were veteran skiers, some were taking the tram for the first time, so there was a little hand-holding while the tram made its way up the mountain. Now that’s networking at its peak!
Arriving together in great spirits on top at High Camp, attendees were welcomed by a guitarist from Michelle Erskine Entertainment, who provided good vibes with a mix of Latin guitar, Americana and classic rock. Music is universal and brings out the best in ourselves and others especially at joyous celebrations such as the first day of summer.
Details, details, details - as wedding professionals, we can’t get enough! Julie Nobis, couture table designer from Creative Coverings, showcased their new Blue & White Bloom linens along with accents of Mustard Dupioni. To top off the linens, the effervescent, creative floral designer Annie Hull with Ash + Lilly embellished the color palette with bursting tints and shades of orange, red, pink and peach in brass compotes. Everything was coming up roses, peonies, gerbera daisies and more. On the Upper Deck, Annie created a floral arch set against the breathtaking views of the surrounding Sierra mountains - the perfect setting for any ceremony!
The food was amazing with Jenna Western and her team at Palisades Tahoe reaching a new pinnacle. Attendees were treated to a Mimosa Bar with assorted fresh juices and garnished fruits. The brunch buffet was bountiful and included a Lox Bar with Everything Bagels; Spinach, Tomato, Asparagus, Gruyere Frittata; Rosemary Roasted Potatoes; Grand Marnier French Toast with Berries and Vanilla Bean Whipped Cream. Our kudos to the amazing culinary team for their exemplary service and flawless execution!
Lesley Marcacci with Marcacci Blu Photography captured every delicious moment of the morning… from members exchanging ideas to others enjoying the friendships that the TWIG wedding community fosters.
Attendees were then invited into the Terrace Room at High Camp, with its sweeping views of Lake Tahoe and the green meadows below. Sawyer with Moonlight Mobile DJ emceed the meeting as Sponsors were introduced.
Then it was time for amazing international speaker Donna Hartley to take center stage, as she presented Fire Up Your Life! The Power of Inner Leadership.
