From Pastor Jeff

Dear Friend,

Peace be unto you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

This week the scriptures testified to us in Matthew 27:35, "...and they crucified Him."

The Lamb who was slain, Jesus, on the cross, took no action to minimize His suffering, He did not use His power and authority to bring the activities to an end or as a means of escape, and neither did He open His mouth at any time during His torture and crucifixion yet for one exception only.

After three hours of darkness, at the ninth hour, when the face of His Father turned from him because Jesus, having become sin for us, could no longer be looked upon by His Holy Father...this moment of separation was more than Jesus could bear, and He cried, "My God, My God! Why have you forsaken me?"

Jesus, all powerful, who had been and would be with the Father during every moment of all eternity, was to be separated from Him but for a relative moment in time...and this for Him was the most agonizing part of his trial.

Lord God Almighty, I pray for those who think today it will be of such little consequence to spend eternity without you, when the One who is infinitely stronger than any other cried out in true agony at being in such a state but for a single moment in time.

Brothers and sisters, pray right now for those who are lost and without Christ! Maybe even share with them this weeks message in Matthew 27 of the wonderful gift we have been given at a price we could afford, but which could only be paid in full by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

God bless you until we meet again!

Pastor Jeff
