Survivor Benefits: Update Your Beneficiaries
Survivor benefits are a great way to plan for the future and take care of your loved ones when you can’t be there. University of Tennessee System Policy HR0307 describes the benefit payment provided in the event a regular university employee dies while in active pay status. The University will use the most recent information on file when processing benefits.
We ask that all employees complete or, if applicable, update their HR0307 beneficiary form to ensure your designations are current.
Please do so at your earliest convenience via the IRIS Web ESS (Employee Self Service) eForm (located in Personal Information):
Alternatively, employees may indicate they do not wish to designate a beneficiary for this benefit via the same eForm.
Please take these few simple steps to ensure financial relief to your beneficiaries during a difficult time.
Note: this designation of beneficiary is specific to Policy HR0307 and is not connected to life insurance, retirement, or any other beneficiaries. Contact Payroll/Insurance & Retirement Services at 974-5251 for other beneficiary designation questions.
Coming Soon: ERC Elections
Employee Relations Committee (ERC) representatives play a major role in advising and influencing those in management about University policies, as well as discussing employee needs and concerns with the University Administration.
We have two ERC groups representing regular, non-exempt staff at UTK: Knoxville Operations and Knoxville Administration.
Online elections will be held this semester in preparation for the start of a new two-year term for elected representatives and alternates next academic year. Look for more information soon!
