The vaccination requirement for all people working in our sector, including employees, contractors and volunteers, is a recent WA Government mandate.
Avivo has been working hard to support our colleagues to understand this new requirement. I am very pleased to let you know that all people who work for Avivo are on track to being fully vaccinated by 31 December.
For some, we know the decision to vaccinate has been a very difficult one. Sadly, a small number of colleagues have decided not to vaccinate and due to the mandate, we have no choice but to end their employment. In parting, we wish them all the very best and hope that our paths reconnect in the future.
The departure of some colleagues comes at a time of industry and state-wide workforce shortages. We are doing everything we can to minimise the impact on you, our customers. Please rest assured your team will be in contact with you if some changes are required. We are working on recruiting people to join our teams and appreciate your patience and flexibility.
We are fortunate to have been largely protected from the impacts of COVID in Western Australia, however, we will need to adapt moving forward. Living with COVID will require more vigilance in following the public health guidelines, which includes social distancing, wearing masks and using other PPE as well as being tested if feeling unwell.
Finding ways to support everyone’s safety whilst we learn to live and work with COVID is of the utmost importance. In the meantime, take care of yourself and loved ones and enjoy the summer and festive season.
