For those of you in the Peel and Perth regions, you’ll know that we have been in a 4-day lock-down since midnight on Monday 28 June 2021. Avivo is following the ongoing government guidelines and adapting the way we support you during this time.

As always, the safety of our customers, colleagues and community is incredibly important to us. Some of our employees who are considered vulnerable due to their age or health conditions may choose to stay at home during the lockdown. As a result, you may have been offered a different support worker and we thank you for your understanding regarding this.

Please rest assured that if you need to cancel your services during this period, support workers will still be paid for their hours.

Please note - The lockdown does not apply to the Mid-west or Wheatbelt at this stage.

During the period from midnight 28 June to midnight 2 July the following will apply:
Community Supports
  • Community supports will be provided where they are essential and in line with government guidelines (e.g., exercise, medical appointments, shopping).
  • Masks must be worn by both support worker and customer whilst traveling and in the community. They must also be worn by support workers in your home.
  • We can provide customers with a mask during an essential community support this week however we encourage you to secure a supply of masks longer term.
  • Please discuss alternatives to face-to-face support with your team, such as a talk on the phone, doing some things online, doing your shopping for you or arranging online shopping.
In Home Supports
  • We will continue to provide in-home supports where it is essential and when other alternatives are not available.
  • When we support people in-home, our support workers will wear masks and gloves, wipes and hand sanitiser will be used.

Avivo strongly urges everyone in our community to have the COVID-19 vaccination as soon as possible. Most of us are now eligible for a vaccine so we encourage you to get it done for your own safety via the link below.

If you have any health concerns, please discuss them with your GP. If you need some help booking your appointment, please speak to your team.

Staying well during lockdown

The wellbeing and mental health of everyone is important to us. We all need to take care of ourselves during this time.  Do take time for yourself, check in on your loved ones, and stay connected to those you care about.

Avivo will continue to follow the government advice, which will shape our decisions and guidance for our employees and customers. We'll be in touch again soon.
