The ESA BIC CH highlight this month was of course the onboarding of the new cohort of start-ups that you maybe also followed on our social media channels.
During the Kick-off Meeting on May 11th at the Impact Hub in Bern we officially welcomed 4 new start-ups to join the program. Read below for more information.

Other than that there was a great deal of review meetings and start-up visits (at their offices) taking place. The team traveled to various locations around Switzerland to see how the start-ups work and to evaluate their progress. Beginning of May the midterm reviews of Corintis, Decentriq, Versics and TerraRad Tech took place; mid/end of May the final reviews of Bota Systems, Urban Data Lab, MicroR/Enlightra and Miraex. It is always interesting and nice to meet in person and exchange on developments, challenges and highlights.

The entire team also visited the Startup Days in Bern (of course!) that took place on May 19th. It was great to be part of the buzzing atmosphere again and the Linden 3L team did a great job in organizing this big event thoroughly. We enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with the ecosystem and potential applicants and were joined at our booth by our start-ups Inergio, Urban Data Lab and MicroR/Enlightra.

Last but not least please note June 30th in your agendas, as we will be holding the next virtual ESA BIC CH Info Event then. The event will give the opportunity to learn more about the program, get first-hand information about the experience of being an incubatee (by our start-up XRnanotech) and of course to ask any open question. Coactum

CEO & Chief Engineer Pau Molas-Roca has been named in the Forbes 30 under 30 in Manufacturing & Industry.

CompPair

announced recent work with ArianeGroup to shape the future of access to space for a faster turnover of reusable vehicles to reduce launch costs. They joined the consortium to define the 2025-2050 technology and demonstrators roadmaps for ESA's reusable space vehicles.

Lightly

closed a USD 3 Mio. seed round led by Wingman Ventures to solve data challenges in machine learning.

Lumiphase

won the ZKB Pionierpreis Technopark 2022. The CHF 98'696.04 prize is one of the most important innovation awards for start-ups in Switzerland.

NematX

received a first purchase order from a new customer in the healthcare industry and officially kicked-off commercial hardware development with external partners.

Alumnus ANYbotics

ANYmal on the moon! 🌖 Two finalists of the ESA Space Resources Challenge are building on ANYbotics' robots to explore the difficult terrain and craters on the moon.

Alumnus Klepsydra

organizes a real-time earth observation webinar on May 31st between 17.30-19h. The discussion is going to be carried out by world renowned experts in the field and will
cover both business and technology perspectives. Register here.

Alumnus Urban Data Lab

developed new statistical approach for spatial predictive analytics and applied it successfully in PoC with Generali. This was a breakthrough and is now being integrated in their standard processes.

New ESA BIC CH cohort #12

The new cohort of start-ups that was selected during the jury session in March 2022 was officially welcomed to the program mid May. Read about their space connection here and learn more about them in the introductory video below.

Archimethod: Transforming high-resolution spaceborne 3D geodata into crucial information to design healthy and sustainable cities.

Correntics: Bridging earth observation data and advanced modelling to reduce environmental risks in company supply chains.

Kido Dynamics: Geolocated mobility insights captured from constellations of satellites to improve strategic business decisions.

TOSA Swisstech: Sustainable and lightweight composite bipolar plates for fuel cells and energy storage in space and on earth.
