Dear <<First Name>> |
What busy few weeks have these been!
The agendas of team ESA BIC CH have been full to the brim with exciting events, meetings and travels.
First and foremost of course there was the ESA BIC CH Demo Day - our biggest and most important annual event. We had more than 90 people attending from the Swiss start-up and space ecosystem that all enjoyed the opportunity to hear our new start-ups pitch on stage, visit our "old" start-ups at their booths and do some networking during the apéro following the stage action. For the first time a female keynote speaker was on stage: Clara Rowe, CEO of Restor (the global hub for nature restoration and conservation and an ETH spin-off) who gave insights into the usage of satellite data for their purposes and how space data is important for them to pursue their mission. Above you see some impressions of the event and you can find many more here.
Correntics, Archimethod, Kido Dynamics and TOSA swisstech had their Midterm Reviews and successfully passed into the boost phase of their incubation.
The annual TOP100 Swiss Startup Awards was attended by Nanja and Christof and featured quite a few ESA BIC CH start-ups/alumni again: 9T Labs, Clearspace, Neural Concept, Decentriq, Voliro, Cortintis, Miraex, Cysec, Synthara, Flybotix, Correntics. The award celebrates Switzerland's most promising entrepreneurs and their start-ups: the newest technologies, the fastest growth.
The entire ESA BIC CH team very much enjoyed the ESA BIC network meeting at ESTEC from 27-29 September and the opportunity to connect with our peers again. It is always inspiring and exciting to be at ESTEC. Some of the ESA BIC CH start-ups were also attending the ESA Industry Space Days (Nematx, TOSA swisstech and Minwave) that were taking place at the same time.
Last but not least we had a great virtual Community Building Event on October 6 with the fabulous Stefano Marrone from Unit9 who enlighted the start-ups on the topic of Content Marketing Insights.

International Astronautical Congress Paris 19-21 September |
From September 19-21 the ESA BIC CH team attended the IAC (International Astronautical Congress) in Paris and made use of the excellent Swiss booth, which was designed and organized by SXS (Space Exchange Switzerland). Coactum, Klepsydra and SoHHytec joined the team and had the opportunity to pitch at the Swiss booth, make valuable connections at the congress itself and Coactum also pitched at the ESA booth. Overall, a very worthwhile event with a lot of interesting space-insights. |

Correntics recently won Venture Kick 3 and will use the CHF 150,000 award to further develop its modeling capabilities and launch the first enterprise version of its software early next year. Besides technical developments, Correntics is expanding its team in Zurich to increase sales across different sectors that are especially prone to weather- and climate risks, such as food & agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and logistics.
The global supply chain management market is currently estimated at USD 19.8 billion and is expected to grow significantly over the next years, almost doubling by 2027. Correntics addresses the supply-chain risk management software market, which is expected to reach approximately USD 4.6 billion by 2025. |
