Dadub (Stroboscopic Artefacts)

Dadub is a project which features Daniele Antezza and Marco Donnarumma, who are dedicated to combining Sound Design and Audio Engineering Experimentation with the aesthetic and musical heritage of Bass Music, Voodoo, Ancient Alien Rituals, Chaos Magick.

After several years of collaborating with the groundbreaking label Stroboscopic Artefacts – whose aesthetics and musical output was profoundly influenced by Dadub, and which reached a peak in 2013 with the release of their Debut Album “You Are Eternity". It's critical acclaim saw the duo to go on to perform at festivals and clubs worldwide. After some years of silence and countless hours experimenting with new dub techniques inspired by obscure science fiction material and the physical force of low frequencies, Daniele and Marco have been evolving the signature Dadub sound into a new auditive universe of "Post Apocalyptic Dub".

After almost 2 years of intense studio operations, they have accumulated 3 yet to be released EPs and a brand new live show.(Interested promoters can email to request EP snippets). Their new music will appear soon this year, starting with an exciting AAVV project for In Silent Series (alongside with Sigha, Positive Centre and SNTS)

Autumns (Downwards, Clan Destine Records)

Autumns is the solo project of Christian Donaghey, from Derry, Northern Ireland, an outlet for electronic post-punk with a lethal pulse. Following an expansive contribution to the Downwards label compilation ‘The Immortal Eye’ in March of 2017. Preceding releases for Clan Destine Records and Downwards have seen the project engaged in a rough trade of transgressive noise, dysfunctional metal dance and DIY punk angst, yet each of these milestones has represented a different proposition.

2016’s ‘A Product of 300 Years of Violence’ saw the project moving into vast glacial spaces after the propulsive industrial discord of 2015’s ‘Das Nichts’ whilst both releases displayed a marked sense of transition from the lurid and engulfed fidelities of the ‘Terrible Tuesday’ Downwards Mini LP the previous year. Alongside progressive appearances on cult labels the project has developed a notorious live show on the back of support slots for The KVB and a US tour which saw Donaghey share a bill with Lust For Youth in San Francisco. The performance of a desolate live score to David Lynch’s ‘Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me’ at the Distorted Perspectives festival, an acclaimed collaboration with renowned techno experimentalist Samuel Kerridge at the 2016 edition of Paris Fashion Week and a string of UK & European dates throughout 2017. After a brace of rough demos and without preliminary hype the project emerged fully formed on Karl O’Connor’s (aka Regis) illustrious label Downwards back in 2014, the youngest act in a new vanguard of artists that included the likes of Tropic of Cancer, DVA Damas and Marshstepper. 2018 sees the eagerly anticipated realization of those assured beginnings, a project free of restraint, in relentless ascendance

Paper Dollhouse feat Asher Levitas (MoonDome, Bird)

Paper Dollhouse is the duo of Astrud Steehouder and Nina Bosnic. Fusing a sound of spidery post-punk electronica with a radioactive ambient pop sensibility and elegance. Having recorded two albums for Jane Weaver's Finders Keepers sublabel Bird and the Glasgow based imprint Night School, 2018 will see the duo releasing the most concise and realized vision of their ethereal, neon-lit pop sound yet with new album The Sky Looks Diferent Here, set for release on the group's MoonDome imprint. Recorded between North London's New River Studios and Nina's home studio in Sufolk, The Sky Looks Diferent Here feature the production talents of Asher Levitas (fresh from a solo album for Planet Mu). You can stream the stunning track Haze here

Mixing the sort of left-feld pop sound of Yves Tumor with the sort of darkwave influence that hangs over groups such as Tropic Of Cancer and DVA Damas (who's drummer Joe Cocherell the duo were remixed by in 2014). Recent years have seen the group releasing a number of more electronic, techno-leaning EPs with 'Plutonic Rainbows' and 'Empty- Rave', as well as recording an influences DJ mix for highly acclaimed online journal Secret Thirteen. Having toured across Europe in recent years, they have shared bills with artists including PYE Corner Audio, Sculpture, Daniel O'Sullivan, Old Apparatus, Uniform, Grumbling Fur, The Doubtful Guest and much more. The group's new live setup consists of Astrud on vocals, sampler and FX and Asher on a sequencer, synthesizer, and FX performing tracks from the new album, set for worldwide release in February 2018.

For those of you in and around London, don't miss the live album launch at New River Studios London on the 9th of February.

Swarm Intelligence

Swarm Intelligence announces his forthcoming album in an interview with Flux Project which will be released on Voitax.

'I have just finished my fourth album called Against the Dying Light which will be released sometime over the next few months on Voitax. It’s somehow a combination of the “techno matter” you mention, along with the more industrial and experimental sounds of my previous two albums. The album is based around fear – something we are constantly bombarded with by the media in the wake of Trump, Brexit, war, recession, racist violence, terrorism, etc etc… I wanted to somehow capture this constant feeling of anxiety and repression that’s in the air.

The album is built from field recordings, bits of old horror movies captured with a lofi granular sampler, hardware synths and pedals, big techno beats and distorted snares and percussion… It’s very noisy and in your face but also has some more melodic, deep and introverted moments. I hope people like it – having invested so much of myself into it I have to admit I am a bit nervous, but I am also really happy and excited that it will finally be out soon!'

For those of you in Berlin, don't miss Swarm Intelligence's Berghain debut, Friday the 19th of January.
