Progress & Joy...

Hello!  We hope you’ve had a great week so far! I love Paul's reflection on what it is to walk out "To live is Christ" that he shares in Philippians 1. For him it means 'fruitful labour' - working hard at something worthwhile; sweating a bit for true success. More specifically he defines it as continuing with people 'for their progress and joy in the faith'. Helping people fulfil their potential in Jesus and find joy, even in the midst of difficult circumstances.

As Croydon Vineyard, in our own faltering way, we're endeavouring to do the same. To live for Jesus. Which means being fruitful in his service. That works out as trying to help every one in Croydon grow in Jesus, and having a good time whilst we're at it! Cheering people on, and cheering people up!

Whatever life is throwing at you this week, the Lord is with you, and He is for you.  We're cheering you on, and cracking the occasional stupid joke. Below are invitations for you - each one designed to help us make progress in our faith, and have a good time whilst doing so. You are invited!

With much love,

Andy Brims

THIS SATURDAY, we're hosting a day conference at St Andrews with Steve Nicholson from Vineyard USA. We're excited to have Steve with us, and are praying it will be a significant day for many. It's absolutely free, all are welcome, and it's not too late to register at
We ran the CAP course earlier this year, and it proved so helpful we’re doing it again! It's a free course for anyone who wants to manage their money better. It's on Saturday mornings (breakfast included!!) 14th, 21st, and 28th October at Croydon central library. For more details, or to book on, give Phil Greaves a call - 07341 083 999, or email at

The Croydon Vineyard Bake Off is back! After the service on Sunday 15th October we'll be hosting our keenly fought annual baking competition. Who will knock last year's victors, Yvonne and Naomi, off their perch? This year's event will also see live music and our ministry fayre - a great opportunity to get a taster for lots of the different things that happen across the life of the church. Definitely one not to miss!

If you have recently started coming along to CV you should have received an invitation in the last couple of days for our Welcome Lunch at Tom and Lesley's on Sunday 22nd October. If you haven't yet received an invite please consider yourself invited anyway! If this is you, please could you let us know that you want to come by emailing
psssttt... if you're on Instagram - so are we now!

CV Life

As a church we are here to help you - and our whole town - come to life in Jesus. You will come to life in Jesus if you:

+ come every week to our Sunday services and try to live what we teach
+ find a home group where you can build fun, healing friendships
+ consistently make space to invite the Spirit to move in your life
+ compassionately serve the church in some way on a Sunday team
+ try to find ways to show others the life-giving generosity of Jesus

If we can help you with any of these things, just let us know; it's what we are here for!
