SPORTS CONVENTION BACK IN JULY

The National Sports Convention is back at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre in July, with the vision for 2019 of "Reimagining Sport: more people active with greater participation opportunities".

The program for 2019 has been designed to encourage greater knowledge sharing, increased networking opportunities and more interactive sessions.

SECOND ROUND OF 2019 SOCIAL INCLUSION FORUMS

Inclusion Solutions has launched its next round of forums to promote the development of inclusive communities across WA.

If you share the Inclusion Solutions passion for social inclusion, you can register now for the next forum on Wednesday 8 May 2019, starting at 5pm.

CALL FOR FESTIVAL OF TRIATHLON VOLUNTEERS

The 2019 SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon takes place on 3 - 5 May, and Triathlon WA have put the call out for volunteers to support WA's premier triathlon event.

There are roles from Course Marshalls to Registration Assistant, Aid Station to Finish Line Volunteer.  With more than 400 volunteers needed, the opportunity to register and get involved is still open.

WINGS FOR LIFE WORLD RUN

The Wings For Life World Run raises money for spinal cord injury research, with 100% of proceeds raised going toward spinal cord injury research.

The race takes place on Sunday 5 May and is different to other races, with no finish line.  Competitiors are eliminated from the race after the "catcher car" passes each competitor.

PARA DANCE COME AND TRY DAY

DanceSport WA in conjunction with Pat Taylor's Dancing, Ballroom Fit and Rebound WA are hosting a Para Dance Come and Try Day on Saturday 4 May, 

All ages are welcome to come and have fun social dancing, or start you Para Sport pathway with local, national and international Para dance competitions.

APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR HEALTHY CLUB GRANTS

Healthway is offering up to $4,000 in funding to WA community sporting clubs competing in recognised winter 2019 competition. 

Clubs committed to providing healthier menus can review the details for eligibility and how your club might be funded, with applications due by Friday 17 May.

WOMEN'S SPORT WINS BIG IN FIRST YEAR OF FUNDING

The WA Government's female sporting facilities fund has allocated 11 times the planned budget to deliver $3 million in support of grassroots women's sport in it's first year. 

The $250,000 initiative  was introduced in August 2018, and  has since provided support for nine different projects.
