LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY WITH WATER POLO

Water Polo WA is seeking applications for an enthusiastic individual to take on the role of General Manager.

This is a hands-on role, responsible for leading all operational aspects of Water Polo in WA while achieving the operating plan targets and delivering the strategic objectives of the organisation.

MANDURAH SET TO HOST NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Action in the week-long National Badminton Under 19 Teams and Individual Championships starts this Sunday at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre. 

A strong WA contingent will be up against Australia's leading Under 19 talent from all six states vying for national selection.  Entry is free, and for those unable to make it to Mandurah, select games will be live-streamed.

SOCIAL INCLUSION FORUM

Inclusion Solutions will be hosting a Social Inclusion Forum, aimed at promoting the development of inclusive communities across WA. 

Providing an opportunity to engage with like-minded people and ignite change in WA communities, the next forum takes place on Wednesday 7 August 2019 starting at 10am at the Bendat Community Centre.

LEISURE FACILITIES MANAGERS COURSE

Parks & Leisure Australia (WA) is set to deliver a 5 day short course aimed at current and emerging leisure facility managers who have no prior tertiary education in leisure facility management.

The course runs for the week beginning Monday 26 August, and is limited to only 15 participants.

BLEDISLOE CUP LONG LUNCH & TICKET PACKAGE OPTION

The Bledisloe Cup Long Lunch comes to Perth on Friday 9 August, ahead of the match following day, with the lunch event providing support for Rugby in the WA community.

If you don't have a ticket to see the Wallabies take on the All Blacks at Optus Stadium (10 August), your Long Lunch ticket gives you the option to secure a Gold or Silver ticket for the Bledisloe Cup match in Perth.

NEW CHAIR HEADS WAIS BOARD

The WA Institute of Sport (WAIS) has made changes to its Board, with Neil McLean stepping into the Chair position after Peter Abery stepped down from this position on the Board effective 30 June to pursue other interests.  The end of financial year also saw Dr Rachel Harris conclude her 10 years of service. 

WAIS has announced several new appointments to its Board, joining existing Board members in carrying forward the distinguished work of Mr Abery and Dr Harris.

GYMNASTICS WA WELCOMES NEW PRESIDENT

Gymnastics WA (GWA) is pleased confirm the appointment of Desiree Jones as the new President of the organisation, bringing over 30 years of experience in the sport to the position. 

The GWA Board is also pleased to confirm the appointment of Sarah Marshman as its new Vice President.

PREMIER OPENS RE-DEVELOPED FACILITIES IN JOONDALUP

WA Premier Mark McGowan has opened new clubroom facilities in Joondalup that house netball, rugby union, hockey, little athletics and triathlon. 

Investment in the facility has come through the State Government's $12 million Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund.
