PARTNERSHIPS COORDINATOR OPPORTUNITY WITH FREMANTLE

The Fremantle Dockers are looking for an experienced, organised administrator to join the team.  If you're passionate about providing excellent service to customers and clients, the Partnerships Coordinator role at the club might be for you.

The successful applicant will be working at Fremantle home games thorughout the season, as well as other club events that may fall outside regular business hours.  Applications close 9am, Friday 1 March 2019.

ROWING WA SEEKING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS VOLUNTEERS

Western Australia is set to host the Australian Masters National Rowing Championships in May 2019, and Rowing WA are looking for volunteers to help with delivery of the event. 

There are a number of roles to be filled for the Championships, taking place at the Champion Lakes Regatta Centre over four days from 22 May.

CALL FOR FESTIVAL OF TRIATHLON VOLUNTEERS

The 2019 SunSmart Busselton Festival of Triathlon takes place on 3 - 5 May, and Triathlon WA are calling for volunteers to support WA's premier triathlon event.

There are roles from Course Marshall to Registration Assistant, Aid Station to Finish Line Volunteers.  With more than 400 volunteers needed, the opportunity to register for any of a number of roles is now open.

PLATINUM TAEKWON-DO STUDENTS SELECTED FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Two of WA's up and coming Platinum Taekwon-Do students have been selected to represent Australia at the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) World Championships in Germany.

Aiden Duryea and Isaac Blackwell - both 15 years of age - have trained together for 10 years, and head to the ITF event in April, along with Platinum Taekwon-Do instructor Paul Raymond, who is one of five coaches appointed to the Australian team.

ROTTO SWIM ATTRACTS WORLDWIDE INTEREST

As 2,500 swimmers get set to hit the water tomorrow (Sat 23 Feb) for the 29th edition of the Rottnest Channel Swim, locals will be joined by competitors from interstate and overseas for the iconic open water event. 

With 46 internationals in the field competing alongside 270 from interstate and 236 from regional WA, it's a show of the high regard the event is held in among endurance and open water swimmers the world over.

WESTPAC WOMEN IN SPORT LUNCHEON


Swimming WA will host the Westpac Women in Sport Luncheon from 12pm on Friday 15 March at the Hyatt Regency Perth, with tickets still available. 

Hear from WA Cricket Association CEO Christina Matthews on her remarkable journey....be inspired by the strength of both Karen Tighe (ABC Grandstand Host) and Glenn Mitchell (Sports Commentator) as they share their personal stories.

ASICS BRIDGES FUN RUN

The annual Asics Bridges Fun Run is back on Sunday 7 April, with 5km and 10km events starting and finishing in the city at Elizabeth Quay. 

The community event organised by the WA Marathon Club donates proceeds to Beyond Blue.  The first 1,000 registered runners also receive a free Asics Bridges Fun Run t-shirt.

CROWD SAFETY COURSE TO BE HELD IN PERTH

Parks & Leisure Australia's WA branch has combined with the UK's Manchester Metropolitan University to present a special Crowd Safety Course to equp attendees with greater awareness of how individuals and crowds react and behave in places of public assembly. 

The course will be held over three days from 26 June 2019 at The Boulevard Centre in Floreat.

NEW HEALTHWAY PARTNERSHIP TO PROMOTE "THINK MENTAL HEALTH" MESSAGE

Healthway and the West Australian Country Football League (WACFL) have entered into a three-year $855,000 partnership, providing opportunities to build football clubs' capacity to respond to mental health concerns, and create environments that support social inclusion. 

The "Think Mental Health" club program will be rolled out across all 25 country football leagues from the Kimberley to Esperance, engaging about 130,000 West Australians.

ONE-YEAR COUNTDOWN TO WOMEN'S T20 WORLD CUP

Today marks one year until the first of five Women's ICC T20 World Cup matches in Perth, with tickets now on sale to catch the action live at the WACA ground. 

Australia, along with England and the West Indies are all past winners of the tournament who will be involved in the opening weekend of matches in Perth.
