Next Meeting: Monday, March 6, 2017

Our next meeting will take place on the first Monday of the month, March 6th. Our demonstrator will be Ruby Cler from Windsor, Ontario.

Here's Ruby holding a 48" long trembleur she made while in Aiguines France, learning from Jean Francois Escoulen. Ruby's motto is “There is nothing you can’t do, only things you haven’t learned.” To see more of Ruby's work, go to her website, rubycler.com

On March 6, Ruby will show us how to turn a unique hollow vessel.

Ruby is an excellent teacher and there are still a couple of spots available for her hands-on class Wednesday, March 8, at Lee Valley Burlington. To register, go to Lee Valley's website.
Upcoming Events
  • Monday, April 3, 2017: Jim Lorriman, of Mansfield, Ontario, will be our guest presenter.
  • Sunday, April 30, 2017: Special all-day session with David Ellsworth. Please contact Guild Treasurer John Buccioni if you are interested in attending. John can be reached by email at treasurer@torontowoodturnersguild.com.
Income Opportunities
From time to time, members of the public contact the Guild in search of someone who is interested in taking on a custom woodturning commission or some other commercial work involving woodturning. Guild Secretary Catherine Churchill Frank is compiling a list of members that she can contact when requests like those described above are received. If you are interested in taking on such work, please speak to Catherine  at an upcoming meeting or contact her by email at info@torontowoodturnersguild.com
Show & Tell Table

Sharing knowledge, ideas and techniques is what we're all about. Whether you are showing off something that turned out well or need assistance on how to solve a problem, we want to see it.

Anyone who brings a piece for the Show & Tell table will receive two free tickets for the wood raffle at the end of the meeting.
Couldn't attend the last meeting?
If you couldn't attend the presentation by Wyatt Walkem on February 6, go to the Gallery and Past Events page to see photos of the evening.
