Badger Meat Science Club tours Kerry Ingredients in Beloit, Wisconsin
On Friday, March 2, members of the Badger Meat Science club traveled south to Beloit, WI to tour the Kerry Ingredient U.S. Headquarters. Led by a UW Animal Science and Badger Meat Science Club Alumni, Megan McGough (M.S. 2011), the group learned about the starting of Kerry Ingredients in 1972 where 3 men looked to sell milk protein to the U.S, all the way to today where Kerry produces everything; from the original dairy powders to sprinkles. The group learned about the intricate process of how a simple idea can become product on the shelf and that it takes a team to do it. This tour gave the group an insight on what post college career may look like. A huge thank you to Megan and the rest of Kerry Ingredients for the wonderful hospitality and a fun afternoon!
