50th WARD MUTUAL AID NETWORK
Neighbors in the 50th ward are working to support their neighbors in need during COVID-19 through a mutual aid network. Please use this form to indicate your area of interest in helping. They have texted thousands using a Request for Help form in 4 different languages. The network is most in need of folks who can shop (we will provide a list and reimburse) and deliver groceries to neighbors as we get them set up for long term food pantry support. You can donate to our grocery fund here. We are also helping recruit volunteers for no-contact 50th ward delivery of food boxes with ICNA relief. You can sign up for a May shift here. The need is high.

SOLIDARITY SIGNS:
SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES
While we have reached our goal to issue $500 grants to the first nine 50th Ward small businesses, we would be thrilled to offer the same support to more establishments. As a thank you for participating, we are delivering these Solidarity Signs for your window. Visit this link to read more and donate!

This school year, every single teacher in our district was asked to support our students in ways they never had done before. Not only have they risen to the occasion, but they have gone above and beyond to ensure that every student is able to continue learning even during these extraordinarily tough times. Bedrooms were never meant to be classrooms, but our teachers have put their dedication, experience, and love for education to work to turn bedrooms in every Chicago neighborhood into places where students can achieve their full academic potential.
This week, May 4-8, please give our teachers the recognition they deserve. The digital media toolkit below has graphics, avatars, and other ideas on how to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. It even has signs that we hope to see in the windows of bedrooms-turned-classrooms all across the city. Download the Teacher Media kit here.
