NATURE PLAY AREA AT WARREN PARK
A group of local residents, headed by Elena Grossman and Halle Quesada Rasmussen, is working to develop a nature play space in Warren Park (Indian Boundary Park already has one). Honoring democratic tradition, they have created a questionnaire to receive community input. The Warren Park Advisory Council and the Warren Park Supervisor both encourage and welcome community input.
Please complete and submit the this questionnaire. Your input is important because often times some of the best ideas come from others!
What is a nature play space? The National Wildlife Federation promotes natural play spaces. The idea behind a nature play space is that, instead of the standard, cookie-cutter metal and plastic structures that make up the bulk of today's playgrounds, people can incorporate the surrounding landscape and vegetation to bring nature to children's daily outdoor play and learning environments. Research indicates that, when children play and learn in nature, they do so with more vigor, engagement, imagination, and cooperation than in wholly artificial environments. Experts agree that children need access to nature the same way they need good nutrition and adequate sleep.
Information provided by Andrew Rowlas, vice--chair of the West Ridge Community Organization.
Please complete this survey as soon as possible!
