Less Than One Month. Let's Do This!

The countdown is on with mail in votes already being tallied. As of yesterday, there have been 48,623 absentee ballots requested with 10% returned and accepted. Find a breakdown of the ballot data at Old North State Politics

Here are the key dates you need to know about voting this year - we know YOU all know this but we hope you will take this information with you as you talk with friends and those in your community who may need a friendly reminder!

If you need a conversation starter, just try "I've committed to asking (5) people if they are registered to vote and have a plan for voting this year. Are you?" You'd be surprised how many people respond positively which lets you then ask "Do you know about the amendments that will be on the ballot this year?" Try it and let us know how it goes!

Election Day Voting:

You must have an updated and complete voter registration in the system by THIS FRIDAY, 10/12, if you want to vote in person on November 6th.
Early Voting: Absentee voting:
  • No excuse needed! Any registered North Carolina voter may request an absentee ballot by mail before Oct. 30th.
  • College Students may register and vote where they attend college if they plan on staying there indefinitely. OR they may register and vote in their home district by requesting an absentee ballot.
  • When you receive your ballot, complete it fully, and sign the sealed envelope along with two witness signatures, and mail it back right away, before election day! By far the easiest and most efficient way to vote.
Your polling place may have changed!
Handy Non-Partisan Voter Guides:

All of this information and more is available in our latest post: NC Voter Resource Guide.
Please share with your friends and networks or just tell them to find it on!

Thank you to those who have already donated to allow us to get a second batch printed! They are a great conversation starter - if everyone could talk with 10 people about these constitutional amendments it would go a long way towards increasing the number of people who know about them. And when most people learn about them they tend to want to vote against them.

Did you know? Two NCGOP Senators, Wesley Meredith and Rick Horner, have both stated in public that they now oppose the judicial vacancy amendment even though they voted for the bill to be placed on the ballot. It seems as if there wasn't enough time to thoroughly analyze the details and repercussions as it was rushed through a vote with no bipartisan analysis.
