At first only a few sails floated through the race area then more and more until an avalanche of triangular white wind fins were plowing the air searching for every of the 5-6 knot wind. Three lasers made the first race but by the second single sail start there were 12.

It was heartening to see the growing popularity of the FJ's; match up a crew and rent-a thrill. Looks like they have more fun than should be allowed. And speaking of fun -  the Optis, were chugging along like the little engine that could. Likewise the lasers -- pros in the know -- were carving out every trick in the book to gain advantage one rivalry after another. Many versions of roll-tack propulsion singing out like a chorus everywhere you looked.

There appeared to be one wind toward the center of the channel from the  south, sometimes 140o and a righty 170o toward Horn Point and the and. Best practicing in a shifty breeze! The start line was a little more pin favored than it should be and could have been made a little longer sooner still a little adversity is good for making opportunists.
