July 23, 2019 TESOD

A kind of a wind hush all over the TESOD world! Which comes first lack of wind or lack of customers, the chicken or the egg. Always next week ! Thanks to Steve Jahnige for showing up for race committee.

You've heard the call for Race Committee and now you'll know if we can use your help! We've added a Volunteer Module to the website so you can let us know you're coming. We need 4 people to run race committee on Tuesdays and we can do it without you...
You'll also find volunteer sign up on every Tuesday's registration page on the website

Still need Service Hours? don't have time to put in a full day each time?

We have a few 1/2 day projects around the club just for you! Please reach out to the office if you'd like to help out!
FREE to a good home!

15 containers of fuel stabilizers, impressive variety of brands or 2 bottles of head and tank conditioner.
Contact Cathy if you can use one!
Junior Program Updates: The past 2 weeks have been very busy for the Junior Program. The Junior Olympic regatta was in Lewes, DE where Ashton Perkins placed 1st in white fleet and Jake Beaver finish 3rd in White fleet!  Opti Green fleet had Lizzie Scales in 3rd place, she has finished top 3 at multiple events now! Meanwhile in the 420 fleet, Anna Groszkowski and Addison Lisiewski finished 12th overall and Ava Farley and Maddie Scales finished 18th out of 36 boats.  We also attended Laser North Americans at Brant Beach Yacht Club in New Jersey where our Coach Leo Boucher finished 2nd overall in full rigs only 1 point out of first!  We also had David Grace and Charles Anderson sailing Full Rigs and finished 21st and 25th. Meanwhile, in the radial fleet, Xavier Shattuck and Griffin Richardson finished 27th and 74th. Robby Meek, an SSA sailor was also there but sailing under the Lauderdale Yacht Club flag and had an excellent regatta finishing 14th in his first ever Laser North Americans!  Congrats to everyone that competed last week!  We also have Marlyand State Champs this week at Tred Avon Yacht Club where all 3 of our race teams are competing, you can find the scores on Regatta Network here:
We also still have room in the last few weeks for those interested in Adventure sailing or Beginner Opti or Harbor rookies!  The summer is coming to an end soon so get in some sailing before the end of the season!

We have our first ever
FJ/420 regatta this Saturday!  We still have some boats left to charter for the event, it is a $15.00 registration fee and a $20.00 charter fee.  We hope to see you all this weekend.

Cafe hours this weekend...

Saturday, July 27: 3-7pm
Sunday, July 28: 2:30-5:30pm

TESOD, Tuesdays: 5:30pm-9pm!
Would you wear one of these by choice? Ha! We didn't think so! These are the life jackets we stock our RC boats with for governmental compliance. If your PRO decides conditions warrant everyone on RC put on their life jackets, we surely hope you remembered to bring yours. Otherwise...well you get the gist.

Wondering about the Wind?

Well, now you can look online before you head down to see what the weather is doing at SSA:

Please take pieces of piling off cuts located near the fire wood pile for use as blocking under your trailer or extra dolly wheels that are in the tan bin.  Leftover pieces will go into dumpster on August 1.
Members storing spars on the first street fence are requested to remove spreaders and tie stays to the spar so as to not cover other spots.  Don’t forget to put your name on your spar while your are at it!
