Name:  Beth Shumaker
Where are you originally from and how long have you lived in the Museum District? I grew up on a farm in Floyd, VA.  I have lived in the MD for 30 years.
How long have you been a member of the MDWC?  Off and on for 6-7 years.
What's your favorite thing about living in the Museum District? The people and location.
Favorite place to eat in the Museum District?  Elwood Thompson’s.
What's you favorite RVA place to go/thing to do with out of town guests? Legend’s Brewery patio with views of RVA.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?  Gardening, sewing, knitting, crafts.
Favorite Richmond activity and/or festival?  Richmond Folk Festival
Coffee or tea?  Beer or wine?  All four.  Plus water, essence of the James. :)

Museum District Association Updates
Neighborhood Watch Organizational Meeting: 
Thurs. Jan. 19, 6-8 PM, All Saints Presbyterian Church at Grove & Sheppard
If you are interested in participating in a structured crime prevention program for the district, please attend the organizational meeting. RSVP to the MDA Safety Chairman, Ron Russ.

MDA Mother's Day House & Garden Tour
The Museum District Women's Club wants to host a MDA House and Garden Tour home again so we need 10-12 volunteers! You do not have to be a member to volunteer with us; bring a family member or friend! Everyone who volunteers will receive a FREE ticket to the house tour and also gets attend a fun party the evening before! Contact: and let them know you want to volunteer at Jessie Ruben's house for the event. We will also have a sign up sheet at our January meeting. 

The MDA is still looking for houses for the Mother's Day House and Garden Tour along Tilden and side streets from Grove to Grace!  For more information click here.

St Mark's Food & Clothing Pantry  
St. Mark's Episcopal Church opens their clothing closet & food pantry on the 2 & 4 Saturdays of the month. Please bring donations to 520 N. Boulevard. The church is open Tuesday-Friday 11 AM-4 PM, and you leave bags earlier in the day if it is more convenient. The back door of the church is in the parking lot between Kensington and Patterson. If you need a tax receipt, please email your name and address to the office and one will be emailed to you.
